I'm glad you aren't in charge of LSU football.

Yeah, because if you were in charge of LSU football, we'd be sitting in Tiger stadium 6 games a year watching blowouts against arse-suck teams with but two games worth watching.

Wow, what a bunch of fun.

Who gives a frick what Herm Edwards has to say? Do you let other people dictate to you how you should enjoy LSU football?

So, if it's a blowout, you'll say we shouldn't have scheduled it?

No, I'll say we have to get better.

What a pussy you are.

Remember, if you are going to lose a game, its best to lose early and lose to a quality team...

I say, who says we gonna loose that game. LSU is the team of the 2000's with Florida. No one has won more BCS Championships as LSU and Florida and guess what Conference they are a member of?

Gary Paterson knows exactly what he is saying and talking about. All he is doing is making his team relivant to the voters because they are already on his side and he wants to keep them there. He is playing the voters because he knows their Conference will come into play.

But on the same hand he does not want to trade places with any SEC team because he knows the toughness of the SEC and what it takes to go this Conference without a loss or even one for that matter.

I say bring them on we will handle them just as we have handled all the other OOC games we have played since Miles has been here. The record is 27-1 OOC and the only loss coming in last years CapitalOne Bowl to Penn St.

LSU will win that game and prove all of ESPN talking heads wrong just like when back in 2007 Herby Boy was wrong then and he will be wrong next year.

To build a national following, you have to play games like this. Excellent move on the part of LSU's athletic department. The upgrade in OOC scheduling is fantastic.

These early season OOC contests are similar to an early bowl game.

No, we'd be watching 4 SEC games, 1 game against a BCS conference opponent, and 2 games against the ULM's, ULL's, La Tech's of the world, just like we usually do. That's the perfect way to schedule in today's college football world.

Dude, the point was just to quote someone else. Herm Edwards doesn't have anything to do with this. To use this in your argument in this thread is really stupid.

Not at all, where did I even suggest that I do?

No, I'm just smarter than you. We don't have to play Oregon to win a National Championship. Sure, it'll be fun to watch that game. If we win, it will do wonders for LSU's ranking, just like when we beat Va Tech in 2007. But we don't need that game next year to boost our schedule strength. We already have an OOC game against a quality opponent. Play this game in 2012, and I have no problem with it, except that I think it should be home and home instead of neutral site. This wasn't a smart idea, and I'm not the only one with a brain who thinks this way.

Happy Thanksgiving

It helps.

National exposure
Bowl game atmosphere
Strength of schedule

The positives far outweigh the negatives. If LSU can't beat Oregon, it shouldn't be playing in the NCG game at the end of the season anyway.

I think it is a great Idea. I think one thing that hurt our team this year is that we didn't have a big game to open the season. When we opened with clemson and VTech it set the tone for our season and I think we prepared harder during the offseason and fall camp because the first game wasn;t a gimme.

I like opening up with a tough one.
