This game makes no sense to me. We already have strength of schedule (SEC!) so we need no help there. Why play a game that we could quite possibly lose starting the season 0-1 and then be essentially out of the race? Clearly the current system is overly generous to undefeated teams. Look how Boise and TCU benefit from playing a weak schedule.

Even though I will enjoy attending the game, I agree 100%. Play all cupcakes out of conference and you get the benefit.

lost 2 games in 07 and the thrashing we gave VT is essentially what got us in the NC game.

We will crush Oregon's hopes and dreams week one. If we played them week one this year and won we would be #4 in the BCS right now.

Last I checked, neither are going to play for a NC unless Auburn or Oregon lose...because of SOS.

And LSU's win over Va Tech in 2007 is the only reason LSU played for a NC that year.

If we don't kick the shite out of VT in 2007, we don't win the MNC that year. You are right, the SEC is brutal, but I don't think playing a strong opponents will do any major damage to our SEC play. We will likely have 1 loss in SEC play anways.

We played that game at home...and it was the third game of the year if I am not mistaken. Not too many similarities to the opening game in Dallas.

I guess the negaTigers can't bitch about this year anymore, so they are moving on to next year.

Yeah, maybe a mistake. There's no doubt here that our strength of schedule is already tough enough, but if we would have played Oregon instead of McNeese State this year the BCSNCG picture would be a lot clearer in respect to LSU. My only problem with it is that it's at the beginning of the season.

Is this the same group whining about playing in-state?

Only one BCS champ. has been won by a team with two losses. Don't plan on it happening again.
