you won't find folks in Baton Rouge or even other SEC tailgates that keep padlocks on their ice chests.
I have no idea if the laws have changed since I lived there but the county is “dry” for beer and light wine (makes no sense). Since beer is not technically allowed in the grove, the police can’t check your ice chests if they have locks on them. Just a loophole that lets fans and cops turn a blind eye. Big reason you will see solo cups in hands instead of beer cans
Oxford is a great college town though, it will be slammed and most places at capacity for LSU weekend

Oldest daughter graduated from OM. Setting up a tailgate in the Grove is a royal pain. There are folks who will set up your tent and bring ur stuff for a uh “nominal fee”. Ole Miss golf course is mature, fair and usually have great greens. I love playing there if you can find the time. My favorite lunch spot is Ajax in the square. They have good soul food. They’re closed on Sunday. There’s a great outdoors store called Hunter's Hollow. Not much fishing gear but great hunting selections. BBB is over rated and impossible to get a table. They believe in breakfast in Oxford and there are other less busy options. Lost Pizza is also some of the best I’ve ever eaten.

I’ve been to Oxford many times. It is the best college football experience in the country. Enjoy it for what it is.

Grove is great being older. If you’re younger, seems like a very sterile environment

Oxford, along with Athens, is one of the best college towns imo.
Athens? Absolutely. Oxford? Nah. Better than Starkville

The Grove as second place for me.
You must like cold cuts, chicken fingers and boobs.
It is a great picnic. It is not a tailgate

Asking because back in 09 we ended up at a bar that was underground. Cant remember the name of it but it was pretty cool. Not a lot of people in there for sure. The one I was at had an entrance off the street.
Not a bad place.

I believe there’s still a decent amount of airbnbs available for the weekend .
$2,000 minimum most likely anywhere you get . Which is pretty much the going rate. Hell the Hampton inns are $700 per night on game weekends .
I charge $2200 for mine . It’s 3 bedrooms. I could go higher but I don’t like to be too greedy and keep it reasonable .

Yeah the last time I went, campus cops were dicks about this. We were with a group in the RV lots and had a couple cases of beer in the back of our truck and hadn’t even started drinking yet. They passed by on a golf cart and made us take them out of the case and pour them all out. frick that place

Staying a little over an hour away in Horn Lake, MS in an Airbnb. Under $200/nt for 3&3.

Be sure to get a picture of their most recent West Division Co-champion banner. Then ask an Ole Miss fan who they played in the SEC Championship game!

I’m sitting on the Student Union steps right now waiting for the tent run. The Grove and the square are awesome. I love this place.

$500 per at the Holiday Inn this weekend for a non-conference game. But, at least I got a room before everything sold out.

It is not even as good as Samford...and I am not kidding.
