Some of the hotels over there do offer a shuttle. You may want to ask the front desk if they are doing that. If not, use Uber or Lyte for a ride. Someone provided a free ride code earlier in the thread.

Are most people going to midtown or Washington LSU bar locations?

Thanks for the tips guys and sorry for the delayed response. Password would no longer work and couldn't even reset. All good now. Have heeded your advice and moved closer to downtown. Crown Plaza River Oaks, only a few miles from where my son lives.

Seeing drinking threads pop up reminded me to mention that the biggest (best-?) liquor store in town is the Spec's Downtown location.

Specs tis the shite. Absolutely amazing place. Wish Louisiana would get some, but when they sell liquor anywhere, there isnt much market for Specs. Their specialty items and deli are what get me. And the cigar selection is .

For anyone familiar....

Is there a light rail line stop near Omni Westside?

Doesnt look to be Prom. The map I just saw of the Omni Westside puts you over by the Galleria area off 610. Its an easy ride down 610 to the stadium area. There is also the Northwest Metro station at 610 and I-10 which may have buses running to the stadium. May want to look into that. The buses for events are not nearly as janky as those regular everyday routes.

No, I looked into staying there but decided not to because of this.

Anyone in here know what time the parking lots will open on Saturday?

I'd prefer to park at the stadium, then take the train downtown and then back to the game. Can't really do that if no parking is open early though.

I think (and I could be wrong) that there's one stop beyond the stadium. You might want to check that. If so, you can park there, and you're problem is solved.

There is a stop after the stadium but i'm not sure if the station is outside the parking lot. Google maps can help you out though.

Appears that way... and there is a park & ride lot there. I think this will work perfectly!

I believe it runs up to around 2 or 3 in the morning. Check www.internet.com.

Looks like the last Northbound (toward Downtown) train leaves at 1:40 AM on Saturdays. So... plenty late enough.

If I'm staying by the Galleria (no i didn't book it, someone else did), what about cabbing it to the Wheeler station and taking the metro down to the stadium?

If you are just going to the game, might as well cab it straight there. About the same time/cost. If you want to go out, cab it to wheeler and then train it north to downtown and midtown or south to the stadium.
