That's it? That is the best you can do?

Les Miles has made me miserable for at least the last 5 years. I almost dread game day because I know it's going to be a frustrating experience that just makes me mad. I can't remember the last time I actually enjoyed a game. I go into every game wondering what dumb arse shite Les Miles is going to do. I hate it. In a significant game I used to run around the house and pump my fists and make noise for a big play but now I just sit and watch in silence because I know what ends up happening.

Slow your roll, dude. You haven't enjoyed a game since 2010???

I sure as hell enjoyed quite a few in 2011, and many since then. If you don't enjoy it, find something else to do... maybe pick up a hobby.

Look, I was as frustrated as most during the second half last night, but I still like watching the game. You don't sound like you're fun to hang out with.

It's called maturity. I've been a fan since Ike was president. I went to LSU, had season tickets for about 15 years during some lean years in the 80s and 90s, I lost a lot of sleep and drank too much lamenting the team. I still follow the team closely, but I don't have a recruiting spreadsheet on my computer. As I've gotten older, I've realized that everyone on the team has much more invested in wanting to win than I ever really did. These players are younger than my children. There are more good players on the teams LSU's had since the beginning of this century than it ever had when most of the good high school players were going elsewhere. The current LSU coaches are outstanding. Nobody's perfect. If any of the people lamenting LSU's shortcomings has a solution to the team's imperfections, please post the solution on this board. No one, and I mean no one, has done it yet as long as this board has been here. LSU fans, God bless them, don't lack enthusiasm, and that's part of what makes LSU football great, but most of them lack perspective. That comes with age; you'll kill yourself if you don't get it. There are more important things to do with your life. Enjoy the games, go home, be with your loved ones, and don't worry about it. 2 national champions in the last 15 years and the undefeated team that got wupped in the BCS game - I've enjoyed that.

I think this team will beat Auburn. If the defense has enough depth, it will go far this season.

Geaux Tigers.

The way this fan base acts, you'd think Miles already had a 2-10 season.

So, in 2013 we had a 3,000 yard passer, two 1,000 yard receivers and a 1,000 yard rusher and you say the offense has been the same for 5 years? How quickly we forget what a veteran QB can do for an offense.

We have an unproven sophomore quarterback and a heisman candidate in LF7.....and a lead the whole game against MSU. In my opinion those penalties put LSU in a bad situation late in the game more than the play calling.

You act like this idea is out of the realm of possibility. We are talking about Les miles here.

Les appears to be fixed mindset to a fault (running into a 10 man box, predictable game management, no answers/ adjustments in NC). This strategy holds up great against inferior talent, but when facing equally elite talent, the growth mindset team will prevail more often than not.

So there. Les and the coaching staff owe me and the whining contingent nothing. I will support the Tigers, but sadly use these could have been teams as examples for my sons on the consequences of being fixed in their mindset (in keeping with the theme of using this frustration/potentially negative situation as a tool for them to grow). See how that works? :end sports psychology rant:
Excellent post. An 8-5 season, including a 17-0 shutout at the hands of Arkansas is just pathetic. Les wins with talent. Without it (and I mean absolute top shelf talent), the guy would struggle to get a winning season. 1/9 made me care a lot less than I used to, and as I see the same boneheaded moves year after year, I know that championships are not a possibility, which makes the whole experience pointless.

I've come to believe that the team is set up for the primary purpose of simply developing players for the NFL. I think he gets a good number of the top recruits based on this mindset and selling point, and the numerous early departures by underclassmen seem to confirm it.

And I don't give two shits about the over-produced, self important marketing machine that is the NFL.

I came to this conclusion myself several years ago.
I would get stressed out and bummed when LSU, the Saints and my other fave teams lost.

Teams are going to win & lose, lose & win. That's part of the game.

Life goes on regardless.

Enjoy the ride because you will never be this way again.

Lsu fans that have lived through the last 20 years have experienced every feeling that a fan can experience so there is nothing new to feel.

It's just a fricking game, priorities change as you mature.

Based on everything that you posted after what I quoted...You're still a whinny and immature bitch.

I didn't know you were "one of those".

Are you unhappy with the last 10 years? Who do you think would have done better? Who would you prefer to be our head coach, moving forward... one that we could actually hire.

You really think Les is that bad? You're old enough to remember Hallman, Dinardo, etc.

After we fire Miles for averaging 10 wins a year, 2 SEC titles, a natty, who would you like to hire?

Wait for it... Growden! No wait... that guy from TCU.

Pass attempts by qtr were 3, 5, 5,1, if throwing is what you mean by changing scheme.

I gave in to this philosophy with the Saints years ago... sometime during the Iron Head Heyward era. It was always set up for disappointment.

However, I still eat/sleep/reathe LSU success.

I had the opportunity to attend a game with one of the greatest Tiger fans I've ever known. He is no longer with us so I won't mention his name. His Love for LSU was beyond the outcome of a game. He was all about the "experience". Win or lose he looked at the positives of the game. We lost the game we attended together and on the drive home he talked about how great this run was or how awesome that tackle was. The next week, he was headed to Starkville to attend a road game. It was more than winning or losing. It was LSU and that's all that mattered. I post this in honor of him, the greatest Tiger fan I had the pleasure of knowing.

You are delusional if you accept that garbage of play calling to where we are looking at a FG to beat us when we totally could have dominated and put this team away with a mor balanced attack.
