I support being careful. I support leaning on a dominant rushing attack. We were over the top on those two items last night, and it almost cost us a game that we had no business losing. We got lucky. The strategy failed...but they missed the field goal.

That's being the better team. If we won, the strategy worked.

I'm seeing a team that I can't really complain about any particular part of the team that is severely lacking. They all looked capable to beat any team in our schedule. We had a top 25 divisional rival reeling on the road. I was really excited at half with how strong we looked.
Then the same things that always happen popped up. Players didn't do anything wrong. They were just handcuffed. 4 passes in the second half is laughable. Yes we won, but we've got a lot of these games to look forward to and someone is going to make that field goal. That's going to ruin championship hopes. It's one thing to lose, but when you've proven you are better, but let them back in the game, that's a problem. Yes it's a negative mindset, but I just see the writing on the wall. This will cause a loss that we should not have at some point. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Honestly, I get exactly how the OP is feeling. I've been watching LSU football for 30 years.
Les Miles has made me miserable for at least the last 5 years. I almost dread game day because I know it's going to be a frustrating experience that just makes me mad. I can't remember the last time I actually enjoyed a game. I go into every game wondering what dumb arse shite Les Miles is going to do. I hate it. In a significant game I used to run around the house and pump my fists and make noise for a big play but now I just sit and watch in silence because I know what ends up happening.
Last night was a perfect example. After the first quarter, I was so pumped. "Things have changed" I told myself. Not too much into the 2nd quarter I saw the writing on the wall and knew CLM was still CLM and and his idiocy was going to suck yet another year of life out of this program.
There is no reason to have confidence in CLM outside of recruiting. He is going to do the same shite he has done in the last 4 or 5 years and leave us completely frustrated. Something happened to this guy. I don't know what it was or exactly when it happened.
The guy that once designed trick plays that no one had ever thought of before and used them in situations that took wheel barrel balls now tries to sit on a 14 point, first quarter lead against one of the best quarterbacks we will face all year.
I was back and forth on CLM but my moment was the Arkansas game last year. He'll never get me back.
We will be on this board in 4 months yet again talking about how Les did illogical shite that took down our season.
I have hoped over the last few years that a bulb would go off in his head and he would figure it out, but based on last night we are headed right into Groundhog Day.

I have seen you repeatedly talk about miss st as if they are a powerhouse. Just because they had a great year last year doesn't mean they are a good program. I will be shocked if they finish 3-5 in the sec. Maybe you think they will be more competitive so please tell me what you think they will finish this year? I think you are just building them up to make this win seem great knowing that they will suck and not be ranked the rest of the year.

Bad decisions aren't justified by outcome. This is basic logic.
LSU took on more risk than they needed to yesterday BECAUSE they were so conservative. Likewise, they could have taken on more risk than they needed to by being overly aggressive in the passing game.
There was a happy middle that the coaching staff missed, IMO.

Miss State is down this year. They aren't very good. We controlled the LOS on both sides of the ball. That didn't happen last year.
They are going to struggle in SEC play. 3 wins looks like the high mark to me.

2010 was a damn fine year and so was '05 considering we had to play 12 weeks in a row and no Ally Broussard.
Garbage year was '08 and '09 certainly was a parody of itself.
We beat Bama in '10 and only lost to Newton and Arkansas. We drilled A&M in JerryWorld.
We do not have to go undefeated every year for it not to be garbage.
