This is what I am saying.
LSU fans need to understand this. Everyone else does. If we are held captive to our USC-hate from 2003 or Alabama-hate from all of their bogus titles, it could come back to bite us.
I think LSU wins, but if they don't and the AP awards this team a title, they will have deserved it and it should be appreciated.

So can the Bogalusa Daily News. That doesn't mean they're the national champions though.

I already have. It is valid because the AP says it is. The AP is expressing their OPINION. The BCS system expressed its OPINION. Every OBJECTIVE measure had Oklahoma St. playing in the game but the "eyeball test" but Bama in. It was corrupt.
Now, if Oklahoma St. had gotten in and beaten LSU and if the AP gave LSU their championship anyway, that would be ridiculous. I would think it was a joke and a dishonor ot OSU. It is only because it is Alabama, a team we already beat on their home field that the AP OPINION would have merit.
But, the AP might not even do this. It is speculative. If they did, though, it would be valid.

The AP voted for Alabama. I know that because it mattered. It matters now.
The Bogalusa Daily News has never mattered (if that is even a paper).

I guess if you think it matters then it matters to you. It certainly doesn't matter to me. My point was that the AP is as irrelevant as the Bogalusa Daily News when it comes to choosing a football champion.
If we lose to Bama and then the AP gives us a split title, I know that I won't be going around claiming that LSU is the national champ and I won't be calling for a "Two Peat" next year.

does not matter what you or I think. If we are awarded that AP golden football it WILL BE PUT IN THE TROPHY case just like the one we received from the AP in 2007 with the words NATIONAL CHAMPIONS on it!

You're trying to justify a potential loss. Nobody cares about the AP title. The BCS is what we want.

We’re playing for the crystal. That’s all that matters. Anything else you want us to “claim” is just being a poor sport if we happen to lose. If we lose and the AP still vote us number 1, please don’t hoist a flag up for it.
