not tigers but see denarius moore (ten), ray drew (uga), and javier arenas (bama) were cut as well

And Trent Richardson cut from the Raiders, too. Pretty bad when you can't make the Raiders' squad.

Hilliard was a beast on KO coverage his freshman year.

Umm what? I don't recall ever seeing Hilliard playing on kickoff team. And if he was out there and I just missed him, which I doubt, he def wasn't a beast. He had 1 tackle at LSU.

Now, Alfred Blue was a beast on KO coverage for us. Maybe you're getting them confused

I could've have sworn it was him but maybe it was Ridley I was thinking of.

Hilliard can play in the NFL. Seems to lack some confidence and is a little slow to adapt and develop. But, if someone is patient with him, I think he can be a starter in the NFL. Reminds me of Stephen Davis. Hilliard was impressive late in the yr last season.
Big Sam was one of my all time favorite players. Couldnt believe he could start as freshman at DE. Feeling kind of sad today , because he is facing a very uphill climb from here.

Probably Blue like KG mentioned, he was ferocious. He's going to be good at RB this year in Houston.

Practice squad I would guess... They like his running but needs to work on catching out of the backfield

Never really had elite potential like Mingo, but he did outplay him in college. Truth is Montgomery was never the biggest, strongest, or fastest. He's a good size at 6'3 and around 260, but his physical attributes were about average, ran a 4.8-4.9 in the forty.

People hate on him for taking plays off against cupcakes, but most players do that, they just don't admit it. Montgomery was a great college DE because he had a strong motor and hustled to make plays. Whether it was against the run or in passing situations. His motor was why he led the team in sacks two years in a row. Could have been three years in a row had that season ending injury not happened his RSfreshman year.

People can also say he made a bad decision going pro, but they also fail to consider that he was on the team for 4 years and was rated as a 1st round pick after the 2011 season, yet he came back to LSU and gave us another great season. Some players shine against scrub teams, but most of Sonic Sam's production came against the SEC. He gave LSU more than most people ever will and he'll always be a tiger.

Loved him at LSU but he showed up in Houston overweight and out of shape:

The he got released under suspicious circumstances:

So maybe there is more to the story of his demise in football than meets the eye.

A lot of guys took a hit today. I thought Lamin Barrow was doing well in Denver.

Really hope some stick on with other teams or get practice squad shots.

I believe you're thinking of Jarvis Landry, who had 2 big hits on Ontario McCalebb in kickoff coverage in the Auburn game of his freshman year.

I expected both cuts. We as LSU fans have a distorted view of just how tough it is to make an NFL 53 man roster because of our former players success.
