For clarity, I think Etling's did well enough minus bama, but I think he should be easily upgradable

I don't think so. He will start opener for sure next year.

No - he's clearly the best QB we have. We know what Harris is; we need a distributor that can get the ball to our playmakers. That's what Etling is. He can also make plays with his feet. Let's just get it out of the way here: white people can do that too - Mauck and Flynn come to mind.

I think Scott has a lot of potential, and I wouldn't mind seeing him in some spot duty. Let Narcisse and Brennan redshirt - either one of them can start in 2018 or they will be two years behind Scott if he pans out.

I really like Scott, and I won't lie that I'm rooting for him. He would be the future though, Etling is the present.

Only way this is Etlings last game is if LSU ends up with a Briles and Stidham.

you can run a spread offense with a pocket QB. There's a lot of misunderstanding on this board about what a spread offense is. You don't have to be an option QB to run a spread offense.

if Etling is the best QB on the roster next year then he will start. I think with the experience he has gained it will be hard for anyone to come in and beat him out next year. ON the roster you have Etling, Harris, McMillon, and Scott. Then you have Narcisse and Brennon coming in. Lot of diverse talent there for the new OC to work with. Should be interesting.

I would be interested in hearing actual rebuttals to my post to go with those down votes. It's an interesting discussion.

No. There are teams that run a type of spread without running QB's.

Saying that LSU wants to implement a spread system doesn't necessarily mean zone read or running QB.

without question. but there are so many misunderstandings on this board it's hard to single one out. that is because so many people on this board never played football and probably not other sports either.

Running spread doesn't necessarily mean running zone read like Auburn.
