I just went ahead and put him there because that was the only point of bringing him in. It's quite clear why Les did it, he isn't comfortable with Rivers or Randall if Mett gets hurt.

So put someone brand new in. Makes total sense. So if Mett goes down first play against North Texas you think he puts the new guy in?

I just meant guys in their 2nd year or higher. We don't have to have any true freshman play on the OL this year.

Les made it pretty clear he doesn't want to play Rivers/Randall (probably sees 2008 all over again). It all depends on how Bolden picks up the playbook through spring, but once again do you think Bolden was brought in to be 4th string?

Honestly it makes no sense to me at all to bring him in. But true the new guys are untested they need time on the field and the first three games would be that chance. Its not like Bolden was playing lights out his stats are not any better and may be worse than what we had the past few years. So if he is worried about them being untested get them in the early games to gauge it. Would love to know what those two are thinking about this guy coming in

I think Dickson will eventualy be the second tight end over Edwards who is really more of a H-Back.

if they're good enough then let em play. We have some beasts coming in the next couple of classes anyway

I once again agree, he has played "poorly" at PSU and fallen down their depth chart (I have to be "Careful" what I say about Bolden, apparently :roll eyes:)

But long story short, Les brought him in, he doesn't want to play the two freshmen...enter Bolden if Mett isn't playing.

This is the OL, coaches like to redshirt just about everyone there because the change from high school to college is the biggest struggle there than probably any other position. Collins was extremely lucky to play last year begin an elite talent but even then...he only played 46 snaps all year, so was that really worth it? I guess so if he'll only stay for 2 more years...but we won't know that for a while.

I knew a ton of folks would be up in arms about the RB depth chart...once again, look at the comment there I put. Not really a depth chart, rotation, go with the hot hand...just like last year.

Gotta throw the bullshite flag on this.

Kid is just going to pass up two qb's with zero grasp of the playbook and no experience with the receivers?

I just don't see it. It's not like he's some all star hired gun coming in.

He was beat out by a walk on player at PSU

List is solid!

Could save yourself some rantard bashing by putting a couple people tied. Position battles are just getting started.

How does it not make sense? He's got experience. Let's say Mett has to miss one game due to injury mid season. I'd like to have a guy that's 11-5 in 16 starts in a BCS conference as an option to preserve a potential special season / NC shot. Rivers and Randall last took a meaningful snap in HS. If anything it creates competition. If they can beat him out put their asses in then. Liggins would have been here taking up reps too anyway.

We seem a little light at the DB position.

I've been censored on here from saying anything remotely negative on bolden but just know I know everything about him and his time "not well spent" at PSU. But I am just using logic here. Les goes out and gets a guy like him at the 11th hour to be THE backup to Mettenberger as he doesn't want Rivers or Randall playing this year as he still has 2008 jitters. We all know this and will just have to accept it.

That doesn't include a lot of players and obviously doesn't take into account fall camp. This is a working depth chart through fall camp.

Glen Guilbeau is starting those rumors. He said that on the radio this afternoon. I wouldn't trust anything he says related to personnel. He knows shite.
