I just can't see it. The other two have the ability/talent and have practiced against the best defense in the country for over a year...

Also they have a grasp of the playbook and have a chemistry with current players.

Nothing about this sits right with me honestly

Miles flat out said basically in the press conference Rivers isn't ready which is why he got Bolden. I hate it too, but we have to live with it. I think it really boils down Jennings/Rettig as the QBs of the future, Rivers and Randall might not just develop.

Move Landry up, and fehoko will likely redshirt.

not yet, it's a big battle at WR this fall so we'll see who steps up...Landry could definitely be it. IMO it is probably down to him and Wright.

Thats why I listed him 3rd string and said he will redshirt.

I love our D-Line...

LB's and CB depth scares me.

Shep the 4th option?

You can put Armand Williams ahead of Fobbs and maybe even Boone. But that's just picking nits.

2nd string, doesn't mean the 4th option....but I don't expect anything big from Shep this year. Guy just isn't a natural WR.

Yeah no one has a clue what the bottom part of the WR chart will look like.

So someone that isn't good to begin with that has zero knowledge of the playbook is going to play over rivers? I guess we'll wait and see, but that doesn't sound very reassuring.

If rivers and Randall are this bad, wtf have the coaches been doing? These were two highly recruited kids...

i cant see Wright holding off landry. He is as slow as Micah Gibbs.

We seem a little light at the DB position.

If we lose one CB we will have a true Freshman in the game. Really not if, more like when.

It will be good for the Freshman as they will have a chance for immediate playing time and experience. Hopefully the coaches work the true Freshman into real games to give them some exposure before the tough games start....Lots of mop up duty. Maybe the whole second half against North Texas.

If the Freshman is uncomfortable, or the coaching staff is not comfortable with them I wonder if the Defensive Backfield will go to more of a Zone scheme to protect the young Cornerback/Cornerbacks?

I wonder if the coaches would rotate one of the safeties to cornerback? Micah Eugene, Ronald Martin? They have a year in the scheme and probably know it a little better.

It will be interesting to say the least. If the defense has an Achilles heel it is depth at Cornerback.

This isn't EA Sports NCAA '13 ... not every kid develops and gets +3 to 5 ratings points each summer. See: Chris Garrett.

At least we're trying to rectify that problem by quantity ... you get a bunch of QBs then the chances are higher that 1 or 2 will develop into a legit player.

Bolden was more highly recruited than both Rivers and Randall and has flopped at PSU. Who knows, maybe the change of scenery will do him so good. Maybe it won't. There's nothing wrong with taking a chance on him though.

Don't think you can put Williams over Boone ... Boone has played much much more over the last 2 years.

In 2010 Simon and Mathieu were both frosh and played a good bit. I think during the Bama game in BR our secondary had 3 true frosh--Mathieu, Simon and Reid all playing at the same time.

Besides, a good DL will make life easier for the DBs.

Great list. What stands out is no Sr starter on Defense. And that is a stacked D w/o a single Sr! But no chance they all will be back for 2013 season too. Expect this to be the last season ending in the BCS National Championship for Atleast one of the DEs, TM7, And maybe even Reid heading to the NFL as #1 draft picks.

Miles is building a juggernaut!
