That is an interesting thing to think about LRM reading Tigerdroppings.....my money would be on Roy reading it for sure.

yeah, but Roy probably would just laugh about it and not really do anything

I agree with that.....however if you're not one of Roy's fan boys I'd tread lightly around him at least thats how I saw it in the past

Drumline capt. from Jesuit huh.....my advice would be to tell him to learn how to hold cymbals. Fa real.

i wouldn't suggest picking up a trumpet anymore we cut returning people this year and 5 freshmen...also there are alot of returning trumpets ( many who should be cut tho) i would do tuba, and i dont know how many drumline spots are "open" this year alot of returning members to the line, so make sure he knows all of the cymbal parts also, and if he tries out on woodwind...good luck

Good luck to him! I enjoyed my years in Tiger Band from 1972-1975. I also return back to BR every year for the annual Tiger Band Reunion. Tiger Band was a great part of my college life; I hope your son gets to experience it.

I don't know. We had some good Jesuit drummers in my day (03-07). Paul and Peter Perez, Jason Roussell, good guys and good players in the bass line. If what I saw this past year was any indication, there are many spots that could (should?) be up for grabs, especially in the bass line.

I was cut from 2nd auditions my freshman year, so I'm getting a kick out of these replies.
Strangely enough, it never really fazed me. It was a fun experience; I tried out as an afterthought, and had never marched in a football game before.
I also had no idea of the passion people had for the band before I tried out.

thank goodness. i think every song on every Tigerama CD from my five years in band is f'ed up because of a trumpet coming in early, entering at the wrong time, wailing out of tune, or holding over.

well, that's certainly an understatement.
If you are friends with the big politicians, that will help.
WHat doesn't help is when you have better bass drummers in the student section than you do in the band...

trust me it pisses me off more than you when it happens at tigerama... for some reason there is always that one jackass ..doesnt help we are always in the front

Sounds like somebody didn't know their role......ETA trumpet players get more pissed about this than anybody including LMR at least thats how it was for my 4 tigeramas.....sad to hear that trumpet players are getting cut now kinda make me want to

The first audition is only an approval to attend the camp this summer. The 2nd audition is the only one that means anything. That's where all the cuts happen.

or let me guess, you are just another trumpet player who got a few notes (letters) mixed up...

From what I understand in the past, baritones are usually picked first in the draft
