good luck with drum line, and as for auditioning on the clarinet, i could give him a run down

hopefully he can make it on drum line though, those guys are awesome.

I don't know. We had some good Jesuit drummers in my day (03-07). Paul and Peter Perez, Jason Roussell, good guys and good players in the bass line. If what I saw this past year was any indication, there are many spots that could (should?) be up for grabs, especially in the bass line.

I played with those guys. They're great. I was joking about the Jesuit thing bro. By the way, are you coming down for the Auburn game this year?

Every year I was in band there was at least one tuba player who had never played tuba before. We always needed and extra person or two so the section leaders would pick someone they thought would get along with us that probably wasn't going to make their original instrument. Most of the tuba players were cool, we never took band as seriously as some of the other sections.

understatement. a great LRM quote (or pretty damn close) "clarinets, i suggest you get the marching down. I dont know if you realize this, but no one can hear you anyway. I won't hesitate to replace you with a real instrument"

because LM sucked at clarinet!

Elleshoe,

One of your former high school band directors is:

1. A Former TigerBand Drum Major

AND

2. a Proud JESUIT grad

He's trying to make it on two of the hardest instruments to make it on.

He'll probably make it to camp at least. But on those instruments, the marching cut is where it's at. That comes in August after a long week of camp. That's gotta suck to get cut after working so hard for a week.

A few years in the band and he will know more about football than the LSU coaches. Please note how many former band members post here displaying their knowledge of what it takes to be a successful football player.

speak when you have knowledge on the subject. thanks.

(its sort of a rite of passage to mess around with the freshmen when auditioning. Happy cut day shirts have been known to be seen around on THE DAY)

somebody obviously did not read the entire thread, what a jerk.

I think 95% of LSU fans don't honestly know what people go through to get in, to be honest, I didn't either, though I learned a lot from this

have to respect y'all even more for that

I'm going to try. If everything works out I should be teaching in Texas somewhere, so hopefully that weekend will be free that I can make it down.
