Hitting will be much better than people anticipate. They won't have any pressure on them to carry the team, and I expect these younger guys to step up and at least 1 Delgado transfer to hit over 300.

Yea we have talent they didn't start as freshman because look who we had. Getting consistant at bats in the summer will be huge for some of these guys. Also look at guys like laird and Stevenson. I don't think we're expected to have the careers they had but they played elite defense and laird batted over .300 in his career and Steve really came along in his last 2 seasons.

They won't be leading the nation in any hitting categories but they'll be good enough to compete for the post season. Most of the guys competing for spots were part of the nations top recruiting class last year... It's not like they'd a bunch of scrubs or something

I mean, it's like people forget we just had 7 position players taken in the draft.

The guys on the bench haven't played because of that. Not because they aren't talented.

The JUCO's guy should aid the transition. 2 of the guys from Delgado hit over .400 and the other hit .385

Because it's the Rant. The worst case scenario is always the correct one.

It won't be bad but more streaky, and probably a bit of a step back imo.

There will be a few .300 hitters. If anything Fraley and zardon are capable of batting .300. Zardon did it at the beginning of the year and as soon as he started slumping he lost his spot before he could get hot again. Atleast one freshman or sophomore is going to step up, it happens every year.

Paps was 4-10 with 4 walks only 1 K and a HR since the Georgia series.

I'm comfortable with predicting that he'll hit over .300 next year.

He doesn't finish seasons

Poche? He pitched his best in his last three outings. He was dominant in the regionals and Supers, and he would have had a perfect game through four if it hadn't been for the errors.

He's our number two guy next year until, and unless, someone has a Lange-like year. Even then, he's your number three. We'll find someone else to close.

Godfrey learns to control that baseball and he becomes the number two guy on this roster and I am surprised so many people don't seem to agree.

I agree

Jake Godfrey has nasty stuff but lacks control, which he got better as the season progressed.

I don't agree. He did not get better. It was masked more, because he wasn't left in there a long time.

If Lange and Poche stay consistent, Latz heals and Godfrey gets his control we'll have the best staff I can ever recall. But those last two are not likely, unfortunately.

Of course it will be a step back. How could it not? But the way people are talking, they must think we'll average 3 runs a game.

People are freaking out because they haven't ever watched them
play. LSU will still fight for a regional host birth.

Poche will be among the three weekend starters. He will start off 2nd.

I really believe McKay is on the talent level of Lange and will be the 3rd weekend guy. I know most are saying Latz, but with him coming off injury I could see him starting out at closer.

Either way the pitching is in tremendous shape
