Poche to closer you really think so?
He was pretty solid all year as the Friday night starter.

Still not sold on this guy as a starter. He could become a hell of a middle reliever but I'm not sure he's Sunday material until he gets his control in check.

Still thinking he makes it into rotation but not to start off season

Poche>Godfrey
Latz would be a better fit at closer and though mckay is more talented than Poche I think there is no question he will be the Saturday guy. CPM won't take Poche out the rotation for a freshman.

Have you noticed something about his game? He doesn't finish seasons. He has great starts in his first two seasons and falls off a cliff towards the end of the year. He might help us early on but once we hit SEC play and get closer to postseason, his numbers take a huge dive.

So you think Godfrey will be better than Latz. AND Poche?

Thank God you made a thread about this. There definitely haven't been any other threads on this same topic and I'm just oozing with anticipation on who tadellatt thinks the 2016 baseball starters will be.

Yes he will. He might not do it right away but after other guys out perform Poche leading up to the season or after the season begins, CPM will have no choice.

Was just checking in on Deichmann. He could have gone to Cape Cod, but chose Northwoods instead because the season started sooned. I think it's a good move because the Northwoods league plays the most games of all the summer leagues so he'll get the most at bats possible there.
He started off slow, which is to be expected. But he's hitting about .275 in his last 29 ABs. Still striking out about once a game, but hitting more consistently. And his average is improving as the better players are getting to the league. He was hitting worse when it was mostly scrubs there.

This is only the 20th thread about next year's lineup. How about we wait till after fall ball before we start guessing that.

Alex Latz will be good. Jared Poche is good not great. Jake Godfrey has nasty stuff but lacks control, which he got better as the season progressed.
Godfrey learns to control that baseball and he becomes the number two guy on this roster and I am surprised so many people don't seem to agree.

2 starts, 16 1/3 IP, 1 ER, 15 SO, 11 H, 2 BB
Numbers really took a huge dive

I don't think Duplantis is going to be a starter in 2016. 2017 probably. Fraley is the CF next season. And 2017 is probably the earliest we would see either Jordan brother as a regular starter.

I think LSU fans forgot that we had him on the roster. He is going to be an instant impact on the field and at the plate.

Yeah, I might agree with you on this one. I hate guessing how CPM will move the OF around so I played it safe and kept Fraley in LF in case he doesn't get everyday PT. He still can't hit Lefties and that is a huge problem.

Not sure where you draw this conclusion from (other than you're trying to justify what you think should happen). He was outstanding in the regional and super regional. He didn't pitch poorly at all against TCU in Omaha (although he fielded poorly and was also done in by Hale's error). If that's falling off a cliff, I hope we have more guys fall off a cliff.
