this. the scheme works...we've seen it work since Miles has been here. everyone needs to calm down.

yes, we lost to Mississippi State for the first time in 14 years. yes it hurts, but streaks like that end eventually. and they aren't a bad team. nobody is perfect.

let's calm down, regroup and beat the living shite out of everyone else we play this year.

the sky is not falling.

LSU can win with this playbook. When your QB and OLine play awful, you might as well light the playbook on fire

No you cant. When even the announcers start mocking the play call before it (because it is obvious from formation what we are doing) you know you have a problem.

Our playbook is designed to strangle and breakdown teams of lesser depth and talent, which is most. But not all.... as we saw on Saturday. We can waste development games like ULM showing we have more talent and depth, but against real athletes (and we face plenty), we actually have to have an effective plan and balance.

So there is nothing wrong with our scheme when we have no answer for defenses stacking the box?

Well it is hard to execute when everybody in the stadium knows what plays you are running.

Isn't grimes' scheme a zone blocking one?

Zone blocking schemes are good for read option/pistol/spread offenses aren't they? Why would Miles bring in a guy who's system doesn't fit what the teams trying to do?

He's partially right.. a huge majority of it is poor execution by the OL

As someone has already pointed out, how are 6 supposed to block 9. When your scheme calls for continually running the ball when the box is stacked, the problem IS the scheme, not execution.

But I will say this. Les Miles has balls.

So we couldn't execute the first 3 plays that were scripted and practiced all week? Nice!

no its the quality of the team. How good does the QB have to be to hand the ball off all night. Then when we play Auburn Jennings will not be good enough again. If your so sure he is the guy at least let him air it out against the lesser teams

Correct. We could be on the verge of going winless in the SEC heading into the aTm game, and his tone will not have changed one single bit. "Jennings is the starter, and there's nothing wrong with the scheme."

Because in his mind he wants to change to more of spread attack, but he knows the ghost of Bo will haunt his dreams forever.

The flip side of that is that if everybody executes their assignments, any scheme will work. But the point of the scheme is to give the players the best chance to succeed in their assignments. If they can't do what you're asking them to do, ask them to do something that they can do.

And when you see your OLine cannot handle 8 in the box then you need to adjust your scheme and formations...it's sort of interdependent situations, your oline cannot handle numbers, spread things out
