Would it be for this year or next? Didn't they already say interim is through 17?

whatever he doesn't get from ole miss we pay the difference, i believe. but it still lowers our obligation to him directly by millions.

So in an effort to increase the funds that can go into the Ole Miss program, and continue to depreciate the LSU funds, Miles will agree to a salary of $1 per year from Ole Miss.

Then we stand the chance to possibly get beat by a coach we are essentially paying to coach against us? Seems like if Miles really wants to screw LSU, this is his golden opportunity!

I would say this would never happen, but I would have said the same thing about Orgeron head coaching at LSU before last year.

Les Miles is going to suck so bad at Ole Miss he's not going to recruit as well as he did here it's going to be so fun competing against that highschool offense lol

I would imagine there are things written into the contract he had with LSU that states this couldn't happen. In other words he would have to be payed in line realitvely speaking with the job he is getting.

I hope it happens. I wouldn't think he would be that stupid, but you never know. Actually, I'd call taking that job desperate. Probably just completing his obligation so he can continue to rape Lsu.

He's said multiple times that he wants to coach.
It's not like he's been offered other jobs (that we know of).
This is a legit school in the SECw.
He'd have zero short term pressure to win because of incoming sanctions.
He's a plus for the image of the school, and he's the best available coach out there.

I don't see why people keep calling him stupid for this. If he wants to coach it's his only opportunity to do so. and it's not a terrible gig or situation.

I just don't know where there is this rush to bring him in now, which makes me think this is BS. They announced Luke as the head coach, why bring Miles in two months before kickoff. It's not like he won't be available in November.

Purdue wasn't interested after he bumbled through their interview. OM isn't hiring Miles. Wish they would, but they won't. Plus I doubt if Miles truly wants to tarnish his spectacular record winning 6 games a year to finish his career

I hope this happens and he has major success just to piss off the dumbasses who disrespected everything he has done for LSU. I think last season would have gone poorly if he had been retained, but that would have finally made the light bulb go off in his head that would lead to something like the Canada hire. LSU was a better place with a man like Miles.

Les would be an idiot to take this joke before sanctions are handed down

If Miles is truly interested, they'd be crazy not to hire him. They need to bring in a clean reputation for that dumpster fire. Miles could bring some interest to the program and is a big enough name to bring in some talent. Not to mention heating up the 1-way rivalry with LSU to keep Ole miss on the college football map. Coach O and Miles switching schools might even be enough to get game day to oxford.

Only problem is Ole miss will probably think they're too good for Les Miles when he is easily their best option.

Let Ole Miss pay his salary instead of LSU, the benefits for LSU outweigh negatives.

If Ole Miss had any sense, they'd be meeting with Miles to replace Bjork, not Freeze
