There has been a lot of bluster from the Miles bashers that no one is scared of Miles at OM, he isn't turning them into a contender blah blah. Ok, fair enough.

But I would ask this question, does anyone think Miles would do better than 3-21 in the SEC if he went there?

If so, what does that say about him in comparison to the man we replaced him with?

Miles has faults, but I would lay serious money on Miles winning more than 1 SEC game a year at OM. I would be happy to do ban bets with Ree andant of those other dumb fricks that are clearly drinking buddies of O or Ponamsky himself.

Here's hoping he doesn't do this and is content to get paid a fortune to watch his kids play ball.

Stay in BR, coach. You've earned it

I don't see Les really wanting to coach at 63 with $135,000 a month already hitting his bank account, but this might be too interesting for him to pass up!

Any LSU fan not having some concern over the possibility of the TWO most successful coaches in LSU history in the west is a serious retard.

If I was Ole Miss, I would definitely hire him if he is willing to take the job. You get a guy that is one of the best recruiters in the country, best program CEOs in the country, knows how to hire assistants, knows how to coach against the SEC, and would be able to have virtually zero expectations to actually win games. Not to mention, Miles makes Ole Miss relevant in the headlines rather than being some school on probation, being run by an unknown interim coach.

All he actually has to do is just not run a power-run oriented offense. If he came out with a pass happy offense, people's heads would explode. Ole Miss fans' expectations are to just win the Egg Bowl and go to a bowl yearly. If Miles got them to Atlanta, he would probably get a statue in Oxford.

Miles really is the perfect coach for Ole Miss right now.

General well liked

Pretty clean record

Winning history

Old enough that he will take the job knowing no other schools is offering

When he is fired in 3 years everyone can say I told you so and they go after whoever is young hot coaching prospect.

I am not just saying that because I want it to happen. Miles will have a terrible record at Ole Miss and it will be sweet. They just need to ride out the storm with a pretty face and likable coach.

He'd be coaching with 2 hands tied behind his back.
1. You getting hit hard with sanctions and bowl bans. You're not recruiting like you're at LSU 2007
2. You're at OLE MISS. You're not recruiting like you're at LSU 2007
3. You're getting 2017 version of Les, not LSU 2007

Les at Ole Miss would have 1 job. Clean it up, right the ship & maybe win a game or 2 along the way. Like I said, they should be interviewing him for Bjork's job, not Freeze

I'm not going to lie, if Les went to Ole Miss and on offense they ran some wide open, spread team that is throwing for 200+ yards a game and racking up points, I would laugh my arse off.

Also, compare this to Auburn after firing Tubberville. Tubberville was known for running a pro-style offense under center at Auburn. In his last year, under pressure of the fanbase, Tubbs brought in the OC from Troy State to run a dynamic hurry up no huddle offense. It was a miserable failure and Auburn didn't have any personnel to run that kind of system.

Tubberville goes to Cincy and his offense looks nothing like it ever did at Auburn. I would guess Miles would definitely go with a different type of offense, beat Vandy, Miss State, Kentucky, and Arkansas. He wouldn't even have to beat LSU, Auburn, or Bama regularly.

Miles at Head Coach there keeps Ole Miss in some spotlight moreso than if they have an unknown name at Head Coach. He is also a high character guy which I'm sure would appeal to them more than anything right now.

And if the stars align for Ole Miss....(if Orgeron is a failure at LSU), the hiring of a guy who can weaken LSU's recruiting in Louisiana at a time when LSU is reeling from being run by an oaf then it could be the best possible hire for them at this time.

Even if he fails on the field, he is a high character CEO leader, with a lot of success in the conference, and could bridge the gap until probation is over. Total win, win if Miles is actually willing to take that dumpster fire of a job.

going to the Les Miles offense is a far more cruel and ruthless punishment than anything the NCAA can hand out

looks like matt luke is the guy and they are going to give him a chacne to get the job full time. i wouldn't be schocked if they gave him the job if he finishes above 500.

Miles meeting with Ole Miss

I am a Les Miles fan and always will be and I wish him all the success because I truly believe he is a man with values that can teach our youth.

That being said I truly hope he doesn't go to Ole Miss because he will truly be a thorn in LSU's side over the next 10 years of his coaching there. This is pretty unbelievable that 2 of the most successful head coaches in LSU football history coaching at 2 of our arch-rivals at the same time. Coach O will now have to recruit against both Saban and Miles that poor sum-bitch has got his hands full that is for sure.

frick Ole Piss!!!!!

It's almost like people only look at the headlines and don't actually read the articles. Hmm

No. How would that make sense for Les or Ole Miss?

Until the NCAA finishes up whatever it is they are going to do with Ole Miss there aren't going to be any real discussions about them trying to hire a head coach. Its such a pile of unknown crap at this point that all Ole Miss can do is what it did -- promote an assistant and hope for the best.
