Let's put this in the past shall we. We all know that he failed drug tests.

I know I will get flamed on this board for saying this, but it's only weed. I know the repercussions from failing tests, and it might be indicative of a bigger problem (I don't see one really).

I know that it's against policy to smoke, but seriously, it's only weed. I am far less concerned with this than him railing lines and staying out til the wee hours of the morning.

The kid is motivated to get back on track, let's move on already.

yeah really. how the hell do they know what LSU did or didn't do for him?
Listening to TM speak of LSU and CLM, he failed them, they did not fail him.

What an idiot who wrote this. LSU did things to try and help Mathieu. I won't say it here due to privacy issues but this guy needs to get all his facts together.

It's hard to figure out from that article if that's him trying to personally spin it that way, or just the goofy spin of this writer. The only quote from him was “I quit counting at 10,” Mathieu answered. “I really don’t know.” I don't doubt that's probably correct.

Terrible. How does this arse clown know what LSU did or didn't to try and help? From my understanding, LSU did several things to try and help.

Not sure if I completely believe this, this site also has that Tony Romo retired and Jerry Jones is stepping down. Cam Newton traded to Arizona Cardinals??? Not sure this is accurate...or maybe i should watch Sports Center??

Sounds like he's working towards an Obama cabinet position with writing like that.

The problem is not that it's just weed. The problem is that he took so long to learn from the repercussions of what he was doing. He knew what he was doing was wrong and illegal and against school/team policies, but it didn't deter him one bit. You have to learn from your mistakes, it appears that he has done so now after how bad things got for him, but I know LSU had to have been helping him with all this, if they weren't, why the frick would he ever want to come back after they kicked him off the team? That would make no sense whatsoever. Like was previously posted, this writer appears to be spinning this story to shine a negative light on LSU when TM has only expressed love and gratitude for LSU and LM

I just saw this. This concerns me. I could give a shite about TM7's draft stock, I am worried about how this reflects on LSU.

we suspended him, then we kicked him off the team, the world should see we have rules and standards that the kids must live by.

That is so bizarre. Its either tongue in cheek, or this guy fricking hates lsu. There are so many assumptions based on zero knowledge of the actual facts. This is the kind of journalism that makes writers look terrible.

Tweet from TM7

quote:

@Mathieu_Era: Im LSU forever... I don't rock like that.. no matter the situation, i always take responsibility

Sounds like a hack writer trying to bash the kid and get a story. Mathieu seems just as shocked as us

This can be smeared two ways:

1 - LSU looked past the failed drug tests when they were in the mix of a national title race in 2011, then in the offseason after some new additions, he was expendable and thus dismissed

2 - LSU tried to help him with his problem and did so as long as they could but there had to be a line crossed and at some point LSU did all they could do to help him, but enough was enough
