Part of TM7's recovery entails rigorous honesty dealing with such matters.
He wants to be certain he doesn't diminish his history wiht drugs to any team in the league. If he's hiding anything at this point he's dead.
Don't blame Tyran for the journalist jumping to all kinds of conclusions wihtout checking facts.

"I just saw this. This concerns me. I could give a shite about TM7's draft stock, I am worried about how this reflects on LSU."

It's been reflecting bad on LSU for about 3 years now

Exactly! Now the way he talks about it makes it seem like they weren't really trying to help him

If she was quoting what he said then it's not exactly jumping to conclusions is it?

No it doesn't. That's the writers spin on this. Mathieu has taken full responsibility for his past and admitting to failed drug test is part of that.

He was asked how many tests he failed. He said he didn't know and he stopped counting at 10. That answer is far beyond the required answer for a question of that nature and just totally disrespectful.

She is not quoting Mathieu.
That's the point, genuis.
An anonymous coach takes that spin in the USA Today article, again wiht no ascertainable factual basis.
This reflects poorly on the journalist and an anonymous coach, but without any facts to support should not reflect negatively on LSU.
Sloppy hatchet job.

I am not a member of the "espn/everyone else hates LSU" crowd, but that was a clear "hit" piece. I hope LSU finds enough grounds for slander. Hiding behind the technicality that the left LSU's campus is not enough cover IMO.

In any event, I would drag the blogger through the courts for a few years.

It's not about the dispute of if they were helping him or not. I'm talking about him saying he quit counting his failed drug test at 10. He should have never said that. Not only does it put us in a negative spotlight but it's childish and seems like he thinks it makes him look cool or something

Do we know if he even said anything? The article just claims an anonymous NFL asst. coach said that he said it.

How bout just saying enough to get me kicked off the team. You could satisfy that question many other ways without bringing unneeded speculation

Last time I checked, being 18 and older made a person an adult in this country, and you will be tried by a jury as an adult.

College kids are not kids, they are ADULTS. College ADULTS must be held accountable as ADULTS.

Ok, so being 18 justifies you as an ADULT like you to put out there?

But that has NOTHING to do about maturity levels. Does your body say, oh, you're 18 now, looks like you will be fully mature, just like every ADULT 18 year old out there? Hell no

College is a huge transitioning period for many many many people. It's the first time you are actually left alone for once, and you are taking off your training wheels per se. Some people fall flat on their face, some succeed quite well.

To just have that absolute cut off age as a gauge for maturity is completely absurd.

Mathieu time and time again has stated, that going from an unknown player to a household name, caused him to get a little full of himself. A little hubris for all his new-found fame. How about that transition? You or I will never know what that's like, so how are you to judge his character flaw?

Yeah, he has accepted the fact that he screwed up, forgive him, accept what the facts were, and let's move on.

If a lot of these tests were done in the offseason, he could have failed numerous ones without it affecting him missing any games.

Maybe he was tested a bunch of times and then we he failed one during fall camp that was it, he was not going to be able to play in any games that year.

LSU does what it wants. I recall seeing players in class twice in an entire semester. The first day and the last. Also, players arriving at practice in high end sports cars - Porsche. So much for student athletes earning their keep.

The miscreant masquerading as a journalist is Joshua Sanchez, Sr. Editor of "Fansided" (whatever that is).
Sanchez got his journalism degree at Seaton Hall, where, presumably they did nothing to help him, despite his serial test failures.
The school should be sued.
I hope Sanchez gets help at the next level...

Why is weed illegal, again?

performance enhancing? No.

Addictive? No.

Harmful? Hardly.

Hmm
