Someone on here posted yesterday that if Miles is given one more year and if Cameron is replaced, what reputable OC is going to take the LSU job knowing Miles may only be there 1 more year. I know the big picture on Miles... His winning percentage etc... But if Cameron is replaced and Miles stays, his hands are going to be tied big time next year because he may not be able to get a proven OC.

Almost feel he needs to be replaced regardless.. and that will be tough if he goes 9-2. or, does Cameron get to stay on if they finish 9-2?

They can do the Bill Stewart/Dana Holgerson scenario where the OC forces out the HC

Plenty up and coming guys who'd kill for the chance to coach at LSU with our weapons.

If Les would actually let them is another story

That's the thing

It's not that no one would want a one year shot at proving himself with our weapons...

It's that no one wants to come here and have their play calls overruled or argue with the HC long enough to waste time outs in order to avoid delay of game penalties and THEN get blamed because the offense sucks when they're not even able to run their own offense

If there were ever a time to part ways with Miles, it would be this season. Next year, LSU is going to be very good and Miles will get a contract extension after next season. If they get rid of Miles this year, they will be able to bring in someone who has an immediate shot at a championship. If Miles is here next year, might as well plan on him being here for the next 4 yrs.

When is the first game next season? That's how long you're going to have to wait, it's bs but it is what it is!

And yet nothing really looks all that different on the field. Yes we've had seasons where the execution has been better. But the overall look and scheme has remained unchanged.

Why cant people see this?

Wait you want to fire Miles because we will be a contender next year? So basically fire him now before he proves that we are an impatient, petulant fan base?

while i agree if it doesn't happen this year he is likely to get another 4, I think you are assuming the team can just pick-up a new system and be unfazed next year with a new coach. That is a big reach.

Think about other top programs who recently changed head coach's. How many went to a National Championship the following year? what about within the next 5 years? 10 years?

Fans need to realize a change at the top will likely set us back 3-4 years minimum and that's only if it's a good hire. A bad hire and we may be look at reliving the Curly/Dinardo era.

We were really lucky to get two good coach's back to back in Saban/Miles, but those situations are very rare. I think the odds of us hitting a home run the third time have to be very small. If he goes everyone better buckle up for a bumpy ride, it is more likely to happen than not.

Your post is spot on.
The Miles haters really think " yeah, we need ( insert name) here day after the bowl game. We walk in to the playoffs undefeated, destroy the playoffs go to the NC G and beat Bama cuz they get in ahead of some undefeated team cuz they passed the "eye test" and deserve the chance. 1-9-12 avenged and we win 4 NCs in a row with ( insert name).

Happens all the time in theaters near you.

well if they're very good and win a championship wouldn't he deserve a contract extension?

Of course not. This fan base is still wanting to fire him over losing a single game in January of 2012. Who cares about that magical season we had that year. He lost to the best team in the country on the final game of the season.

I'm looking forward to getting some cheap season tickets in a few years when Joe Derp lets Les go and gets an "Up-and-Comer" like Tennessee snagged Dooley....

Auburn
Ohio State
FSU
Alabama

Usually teams that fire coaches need to be rebuilt too. that isn't the case here
