Lifelong LSU fan, LSU-Alexandria student and will be getting my PhD in History from LSU.

My daughter is a senior at Tulane.

For a time, I felt: "blood is thicker than water" and even wore Tulane green to the games in Tiger Stadium.

Now that my daughter is 21 and an adult, I don't feel the same need to root for Tulane athletics just because my daughter attends.

The fact that the few Tulane fans that are left are delusional and arrogant, with nothing to be arrogant about, kinda cured me of trying to be a Tulane fan.

Tulane is now merely the school my daughter attends.

Raised LSU fan in the 60's, listened to Sat night games on WWL am, before cable TV. Whole family listened to Billy Cannon as a kid on the radio. Graduated from Northeast in Monroe because my parents sent me there. I love LSU and bleed P. and G. Held season tickets for 11 years while living in La.. gave them up when job took me to Tupelo,Ms. Love NLU , really love LSU, hate Ole Miss.

I grew up an LSU fan and eventually developed a large disdain for AU football (grew up in Auburn and got to listen to a LOT of AU fans talking shite). I got full tuition scholarships to both AU and LSU, but chose AU because they have a better engineering department. I try and pull for AU, but as soon as they fall behind I start to laugh and pull for the other team (I was enjoying the Utah State upset while it lasted). I am still a huge LSU fan and still pull for LSU over AU. I chose AU for an education and have no attachment to their sports.

I went to LSU for 2 years and then switched to UNO. My son goes to Tenn Tech and my daughter goes to Memphis - both huge LSU fans because it is in their blood. My dad went to LSU and taught at LSU. I have 2 uncles that played for LSU and one went on to play pro football and is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. LSU is a family tradition - my first football game was an LSU game. What possible effing difference does it make if you went there or not?

I grew up in Houston dreaming of playing baseball for Texas. Moved to LA my Jr year of high schooling '89. Wasn't a big fan until '94 (?) when I made my first game, a loss to Kentucky. The whole atmosphere was "cool".

The next yr(?) I was on the first row of the student sect when we beat Auburn (ranked #2). Then, it was AWESOME.

In '96, got a job at the LSU vet school, and have had season tix since.

There is no better football experience than the one at LSU anywhere in the country at any level. Hands down.

I graduated from UGA in the spring. Sat in the student section in 09 in purple.

No, it wasn't hard to not root for UGA. I got accepted the week of the blackout Bama game and their program has gone way downhill since.

I still root for then when they're not playing LSU though.

Was it hard to not support the school you attended?

The college I attented had no athletic department at all. zero sports

Just curious as to how you can go to another university and not support that school.

I do support my college....they just don't have any teams to support.

I agree with supporting your alma mater.

My family heils from Breaux Bridge and St. Martinville. I moved to GA in grade school and finished High School there. I was raised a Tiger and after graduating HS I attended LSU as I always wanted. After a year at LSU, it became clear that working to pay my way through school and paying out of state tuition wasn't going to cut it. It was really a no brainer, when considering that I had a lottery funded scholarship waiting for me back in GA. I returned to GA and got a degree there. There was no athletic program at the school so I remained a Tiger. I've had the good fortune of attending both the 03' and 07' NC games.

Recently, I've enrolled at USF and so I now divide my loyalties. My heart will always be with the Tigers, but the purple and gold will share time with the Bulls now..

I was born in Baton Rouge. My dad is an LSU grad and took me to games and to see Mike the Tiger as a kid. We were an LSU household.

I went to VCU... no football team... that made it even easier.

Geaux Tigers!

I graduated from Northwestern State in '93, am I conflicted? Hell no!! Geaux Tigers!!

NSU can take the paycheck back to Natchitoches, do good things for the athletic department and compete for the Southland Conference championship.

LSU has a tune-up game to work some of the kinks out and continues their march to New Orleans, everyone's happy.

Been a LSU fan since I was a kid but ULL was just a better fit for me when it came time to go to school. In my years there I never attended on ULL football game but I went to plenty LSU games. Even when LSU occasionally plays ULL in whatever sport, I'm definitely rooting for the Tigers. Don't feel guilty one bit, I will always be an LSU fan.
