re: Any good Civil War documentaries out there? - TupeloTiger
There is one on the AHC-American History Channel that repeats itself about every two months. It very good. About 4 or 5 parts. There is an older one that repeats less often but often. It's also good. Look for it. ...

I thought they dropped Jackson. Great, I can go to it from Tupelo. I used to go to Monroe or Baton Rouge for about 20 years before having to move. Thanks for the info....

re: Should 'disability' be reformed? - TupeloTiger
Disability is a lot of fraud and abuse. One of my store warehouse workers came to me to ask for a raise for him and his 5 kids. Couldn't pay his bills each month. I could not. He went to a Democrat headquarters office on Main street and got the area chairman and a Trial Lawyer to file for a bad b...

re: La Gas Tax Increase to be voted on in committee next week--- - TupeloTiger
There was a 5 cent gas tax passed in the 80's when I was in the Senate. The democrats promised that it would all go to highway/road construction only. After I left office in '89, about 2 years later, the Democrats changed it in the DOTD bureaucracy to Democrat city buses, inner city projects, railr...

re: Why are 6 out of 17 La. Senate Committees Chaired by Dems? - TupeloTiger
No. the President of the Senate is picked by the Senators themselves, but, the Governor could be very influential if he wanted to. Some do,some don't,it depends on if there is a strong veteran Senator who wants it. 20 votes out of 39 is all it takes....

re: Any politicians on this board? Or Washington influentials? - TupeloTiger
I'm a former Louisiana St. Senator for 8 years and campaign strategist for many state and federal campaigns. I'm on here every day. I was a Senator in the 80's under Ronald Reagan and Edwin Edwards. I was in my 30's in that time period....

re: Question about Trumps new tax plan - TupeloTiger
He's talking about annual Income Tax, not what is taken out of your check. Social security,Federal withholding, state withholding, and the new Obamacare tax out of your take home balance. If you start out making 24,000, you won't pay in on a April 15th income tax. Your take home pay will remain the...

re: O'Reilly is done at fox. Decision has been made - TupeloTiger
Bring in a rotating host for a test. Lars Larson should be included. Maybe rotate Larry Elder, Lou Dobbs, Laura Ingram, [Rush Limbaugh], Alan West, General Kline[Kaine][sic],Britt Hume, and Larry Kudlow. ...

re: Jon Ossoff for Congress - TupeloTiger
I was off today and saw on TV a story about him. He is a Liberal Democrat, anti-Trump POS. He will be on Pelosi's team, book it. He has a big lead in the polls and his closest GOP opponent is a female Republican that has lost two races already. I expect a run-off between those two, however, there ...

re: La.'s crappy roads cost citizens billions, but what do we do with our money? - TupeloTiger
The public just doesn't know. The gas tax for roads passed in the 80's was for roads only[state roads, not local]. The Democrats slowly moved that tax to inner city Democratic projects such as buses, buildings, gov't employees[campaign workers], railroads, and city transportation. They vote Dem. so ...

re: When did the singular goal in politics become to vanquish your enemies? - TupeloTiger
All the above is true, but, the real source is from the Democratic Party during the Reagan years. When Reagan was doing great, the economy was booming, jobs were plentiful, careers were there in factories, and the Soviet Communists were losing, freedom winning, there was a big meeting of the Union lead...

Yes, I took it all of those years in the 80's/90's. I was in Bastrop and Baton Rouge then. Did not have websites then, all Tiger Rag and the Advocate/TimesPicayune. Loved it. Now, the Website isn't much....
