I have a Alabama fan that I deal with at work. I see him about once a month. The last time I saw him was right before the Arkansas game. He said "if ya'll when you know it will be a rematch in the championship game right". I said "it doesn't matter we'll beat you worse the second time." He said "what are you talking about, you didn't beat us the first time."
He honestly mean it!! I think our only chance as being considered a true player in footbal is to beat them again and do it convincingly. Had we palyed OSU in championship Bama would have been calling us fake champions forever!

Here's the bottom line:

The LSU - Bama game that was played on 5 Nov 11 means absolutely NOTHING, in the context of the current situation.

The second that they placed Bama in the 9 Jan 12 game was the second that the significance of the 5 Nov 11 game was erased permanently completely and irrevocably.

Finally, if LSU wins on 9 Jan 12, all of the BS about how Bama was the better team is erased. There probably won't be much media hype about the point, but, LSU fans will know that this LSU team is one of the very best in the history of CFB.

If Bama wins on 9 Jan 12, LSU fans will need to stop listening to sports talk because all you are going to hear when college fb is discussed is the greatness of Bama football, the greatness of Saban, the greatness of TR, the greatness of Dre, etc, etc. etc. It will be non stop, repetitive and Bama fans will be walking along 10 feet off the ground.

The national sports media loves them sum BAMA and SABAN . . . and, the national sports media will always think ( but maybe not say) that Les Miles is a dumbass, half-retard, because they have a template and will never deviate from that template.

Contrary to opinions expressed by some, the Nov.5 game was huge. It led to an SEC championship, which is by any measure a big deal and far from meaningless.

Do you think the way media treats NOV 5 and the rematch is disrespectful to LSU? If so give examples of names in the Media Thanks

Yes. Meaningful for LSU fans.

If Bama wins on 9 Jan, the LSU SEC championship will mean absolutely nothing to everybody except LSU fans.

What value is a conference championship when your big rival in your conference division is sporting the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ring and trophy? Answer: not much, except to maybe LSU fans.

So, here is my main point, and it relates directly to the title of this thread. Based on all that has occurred, the truth is that LSU won nothing on 5 Nov 11. That game meant absolutely nothing.

The powers that be proved that point very clearly when they plopped Bama in the BCSNCG. By doing that, the point is made, and here is their message for LSU:

"LSU, you have to beat Bama on 9 Jan, because you really didn't win on 5 Nov. You have to beat Bama twice while thay only have to beat you once. That's just us showing our love for Bama and Saban. Deal with it, sucka. PS We won't say this in public, but your coach is an idiot. "

May also stated that Bama left 16 points on the field

This is a complete falsehood. Nobody leaves points on the field. You either score them or don't. We did, they didn't!

If you start taking into consideration points "missed out on" you would have to go back through history and rewrite all of the records and record books, but you can't because you either score them or you don't.

Bama will leave even more points on the field come Jan. 9th, primarily due to the stout and dominating LSU Defense!

Which is the reason this should not happen. A conference champion should be immune from getting "one-upped" by a member of its own conference.

Playing into such a game, like in a playoff system, is one thing. But being placed there by voters is quite another thing.

When I rewatched the game I noticed LSU in Bama's backfield. I noticed LSU not getting tackled for losses on their runs. Bama had 4 nice big plays. 2 they confused the secondary... 2 were nice runs. LSU helped them a bit with penalties in the first couple of quarters. Then we start to roll in the 3rd on D and get a 3 and out and immediately throw a pick. I think if we don't throw that 2nd pick after that 3 and out, we start to steam roll.

Bama got good pressure on our QBs as well. But I noticed our d-line being more distruptive. We really did start to wear them down. I honestly think the key to the BCSNCG is just to not turn it over and we'll win.

+10000000000000000000

the one thing I'd add is the psych job on lil' Nicky has already started...watch Miles going up to the stage when his name was called last night...

Les is US Grant to Nicky's Robert E. Lee....

to take what Grant told his staff after Second Wilderness and put it in applicable terms to this game: "you don't worry what Nicky is going to do, you start thinking what we are going to do to Nicky..."
