re: 3 Friendly Bits of Advice for LSU Fans - tigerinridgeland
I know it is popular to bash Jackson, but there are some good places to eat in Jackson and Ridgeland along or near the I-55, and actually not really a worry about safety. In Jackson at Highland Village, Bravo and Char are good choices. A little further off the interstate, but highly recommended is W...

re: College Football Imperialism Map - tigerinridgeland
May be the dumbest map ever. Seriously U. of Memphis has no following in N.E. Louisiana, but the map shows Memphis holding sway there. And U.K. in S. Mississippi? Really?? The only connection to S. Mississippi is that U.K. played a game at USM....

re: Ed O in Over His Head? - tigerinridgeland
I could go be a coach at USC and look like a god.
The old "that school recruits itself" argument simply doesn't fly. Texas, Notre Dame, USC, Michigan, Florida, Alabama, etc., all have histories that run counter to this myth. LSU also has a history that demonstrates this is a flawe...

re: So another OM lie is debunked - tigerinridgeland
I found it strange that mom was upset with Dan and not OM?
That is totally dependent on the word, uncorroborated, of a process server hired by Merkel. Reportedly, the process server is a former Ole Miss player, as least according to Bo Bounds this morning on his show. Not exactly a...

re: Will Lying Leo ever play another down at MSU? - tigerinridgeland
Not all that complicated if you read the rules. Powell posted an excerpt, but didn't read them, otherwise he wouldn't have posted nonsense about amending the NOA to Ole Miss based on speculation about what Lewis might say about other teams. ...

re: Will Lying Leo ever play another down at MSU? - tigerinridgeland
"First, they would get the testimony of Leo Lewis and ask him about payments from other schools. If he said yes and gave details, based on his testimony, they would amend the NOA on Ole Miss. Then they would order the investigation." Why would Leo's testimony, should it include information abou...

re: I spent the last 4 hours or so listening ( rosebowl was right!) - tigerinridgeland
The issue there is whether the information on the NCAA website that contains documents are subject to a public records request. Since FSU was a public institution and used the documents in the website to conduct its business, the documents were public records. Would love to see Ole Miss's respon...

re: I spent the last 4 hours or so listening ( rosebowl was right!) - tigerinridgeland
While it may be likely that Mississippi law is similar to he Florida law, with likely similar results if litigated, the Florida case is not binding in Mississippi. Some information can be hidden, at least in part because the court recognized that redactions of names of students were permitted. The c...

re: I spent the last 4 hours or so listening ( rosebowl was right!) - tigerinridgeland
You may be right on that point. I went back and looked at the rule. I first thought it might limit disclosure to the institution and the witness, but it may be broader than that if Rebel Rags is an "involved individual," which would seem correct. "For all cases to be considered by the Committee o...

Thanks for the clarification. I understand that Merkel does not concern you, and that is fine. I have seen one poster assert rather strongly that Merkel does have a copy. If he does, perhaps it should be of concern as it evidences more disregard for the rules. It could be mere speculation that there...

re: I spent the last 4 hours or so listening ( rosebowl was right!) - tigerinridgeland
Just curious, but why is someone at Ole Miss providing information to folks who are outside of the university (I assume the NCAA is not leaking documents to alums and lawyers not representing the university)? The NCAA bylaws state: “An institution and any individual subject to the NCAA constitut...
