re: Harsh Reality - Elite coaches don't want the LSU job - tigerinridgeland
How many elite coaches are real possibilities for any program? Elite coaches already tend to be at elite programs and don't tend to leave for another elite school. Alabama lucked out because Saban realized he wasn't an NFL coach and they happened to have a vacancy. Meyer left Florida and then Tresse...
I'll answer this roll call. Hadn't thought of that in many years, and probably wouldn't have. Thanks for bringing an image of the old1970s Tiger Stadium to mind, and tear a to my eye.
Same here. I remember getting to the stadium a couple of hours before the game to get a good seat ...

re: Hey, Louisiana: France Sucks! - tigerinridgeland
No offense...but you spent way too much time on this troll
Probably, but there are way too many ignorant people who spout this kind of nonsense all the time. By the way, the French think the English (not Scots or Welsh) are rude and arrogant....

re: Hey, Louisiana: France Sucks! - tigerinridgeland
Arrogant, rude, inconsiderate, always play the victim and some of them smell. Cajuns are definitely their descendants.
So much ignorance in this quote. I have spent several weeks each summer in France over the last 5 years. Contrary to your assertions, the French actually are very...

re: When did the "go to hell" chants start? - tigerinridgeland
Panty raids occurred at least through 1972, and maybe '73 as well. There was also an annual food fight in one or more of the cafeterias on the Thursday evening before the Ole Miss game. In '72 or '73, some idiot posted a sign just outside of Pentagon Cafeteria announcing a food fight at 6:00 p.m. Of...

re: Watching the 2003 Ole Miss game - tigerinridgeland
Verne said it during the game that they played in Jackson and split the profits because Ole Miss' stadium was too small
Ole Miss and State for many years played big games in Jackson instead of their home stadiums because their stadiums were small. Ole Miss played in Baton Rouge bec...

re: LSU has lost its mystique. - tigerinridgeland
Sounds like the radio guy doesn't know squat. LSU receivers under Miles have done pretty well in the NFL. Apparently the radio guy doesn't know that the Lambeau Leap will result in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Wisconsin's coach issued a warning to his players also. Next time maybe the radio ...

re: LSU and the Opossum - tigerinridgeland
I think you have to remember that to a cajun the possum is not reviled. In fact, its considered a delicacy.
Sorta like the way armadillo on the half shell with a half dozen mountain oysters on the side is an Aggie delicacy....

re: Can we get a petition started to rename LSU the 'Possums? - tigerinridgeland
Our live mascot is a fully grown tiger. I'd like to see the Auburn eagle try to snatch Mike and fly away. The eagle would actually have to be a mythical roc in order to pull that off. The possum is a rally symbol, not a mascot....

re: It was a smart move by CPM but I would have sent Poche out to start the ninth - tigerinridgeland
When pronouncing French words/names, syllables are not stressed, as in English. The emphasis is the same for each syllable, hence one of the reasons that many non-Louisianians get the pronunciation of French names wrong....

re: Looking at you Ole Miss - tigerinridgeland
No problem. Just so you know, I am not among those who accuse everybody associated with Ole Miss of being racists. Living in Mississippi, I have lots of friends and coworkers who went to Ole Miss, and I certainly don't find them to be racist. Not that I don't "hate" Ole Miss when it comes to sports,...
Georgia people deffaced the statue, NOT Ole miss students or locals.
Sorry, you don't get to rewrite history to suit yourself. The noose was placed on the statue by Ole Miss students from Georgia. They got kicked out of Ole Miss, or at least withdrew, but they were Ole Miss studen...
