Hard to argue with this. What's 9-3 going to get us?

The Outback would be alright. Playing Wisconsin twice in one year wouldn't.

Why does any LSU fan want to see us get creamed by Baylor? That will be embarrassing but very likely since our d pretty much sucks. that fricking loss to ole miss continues to haunt

I agree. I'm so sick of LSU going to Dallas and it seems like the "Texas Tigers" are acting really whiny about having to travel elsewhere. I'd actually go to Orlando or Tampa for a bowl game (plus I have friends in both cities to stay with), but I refuse to go to Dallas.

Last year we got the shaft in the bowl selections, in part because UGA and Clemson were playing the opening game of this season, and the bowl committees didn't want to match them up. If LSU gets matched up with Wisconsin, then I'd be ready to join the "fire Alleva" crowd, because it would prove that he can't get anything moved in LSU's favor.

Good point! Just say no to the Outhouse vs. Wisconsin.

***Outhouse is a reference to the way they crap on the West and how their restaurants have turned to crap. It's NOT a reference to Tampa.***

With Mett out, Cotton might prefer USC.
Outback at least would be a different destination and with LSU ahead of UGA and Fla out this year it might be LSU's only shot at Outback.

LSU would likely play Iowa, hopefully not Wisconsin.

If tOSU loses to Michigan State they'll take tOSU. If Michigan State loses I have to think they'll probably still take Michigan State with 2 losses to play the ASU/Stanford winner.

This is what I thought yesterday morning until all the talk of MSU dropping out of the top 14 was being discussed.

If MSU does drop out of the top 14, they'll get the Capital One which does send Wisconsin to Outback. If MSU stays in the top 14 , they'll get the Rose Bowl.

If MSU gets BCS and Auburn wins SECCG:
Capital One - Wisconsin vs. SC
Cotton - Big 12 vs. Missouri
Outback - Iowa vs. LSU

If MSU gets BCS and Missouri wins SECCG:
Capital One - Wisconsin vs. Auburn
Cotton - Big 12 vs. LSU
Outback - Iowa vs. SC

^^^But if Capital One takes SECCG loser regardless which team it is, LSU could get the Cotton unless the Outback really doesn't want SC and a deal is made to switch West and East for Cotton/Outback.

Now if MSU drops out of top 14 and gets Capital One, that sends Wisconsin to Outback. So pending whether Auburn or Missouri is available to Capital One (they could still take whichever is available), Wisconsin being in the Outback could mean Cotton or Gator for LSU to avoid that matchup. And I don't see Chick Fil A taking us back to back.

Gator vs. Michigan possibly?

Michigan would be more desirable opponent since LSU has never played them even though Michigan is down a little this year.

Destination wise Tampa would be a nice trip.

Cotton would still be the best option.

This would be the most interesting matchup, but in the worst bowl in my opinion.

Im hoping for Michigan or nebraska in outback.

I have to say, as an LSU fan that lives quite a distance from the area, I don't quite get the Cotton love from Tiger fans.

Obviously and selfishly for folks like myself that live in Tejas, Cotton is an easier venue.

However, I do think from a tradition standpoint that there is little doubt that Cotton > Outback. Exposure will also be greater with an evening game after New Year's. The midday timeslot on New Year's Day for the Outback doesn't appeal to me. Not the same marketing or viewership that the Cotton would provide. Wisconsin to finish a season and start the next one is also a downer. I would love to play Texas in the Cotton as we always do well the following year after UT in the Cotton Bowl.

Great bowl game, great atmosphere, great stadium, lots of Alumni, and a great city in Dallas to do things that weekend... yea, I dont get it either?

It was rhetorical. The point being, that the impression becomes borderline parochialism. Yay, another LSU game in Texas.

I certainly don't want to play Wisconsin in the bowl game, but, to me, a B1G match up seems more appealing than a Big12 (with the possible exception of Texas). Could be because I know so many B1G alums up here.

No. they won't not to the rose. If OSU losses it will go to the Sugar and MSU goes to the Rose.

Very possible.
