I have to say, as an LSU fan that lives quite a distance from the area, I don't quite get the Cotton love from Tiger fans.

Because the Cotton Bowl is located in the state that houses the most LSU grads not living in Louisiana

I'd love a rematch with Iowa, can't stand their fans. Ugliest fanbase i've ever seen.

Sorry to hear that. We're not all bad. Like any fanbase, the snapper heads are out there.

Good luck in your bowl, unless of course Its against the Hawks

it'd be intriguing to go up against our old dc.

If LSU had 75 plays in that game, 55 of them should be Wildcat snaps. It is his Achilles heel.

As much as I loved Bo at LSU, I'd love to be the one to get him fired at Nebraska. He's acted like a petulant child -- worse than Muschamp even.

I actually had a good time at that CapOne bowl, other than the result and learning on the way out of the stadium that we had hired Coach Miles. I've overcome the latter disappointment and come to appreciate him (most of the time).

But we were on the edge of the Iowa student section and I was there with my whole family (three then young kids, wife and mother-in-law). I had a great time jawing with the Iowa fans and we both did some pointing at the scoreboard at various points. I was as gracious as I could be for having been stunned on the last play.

But my kids and wife still tell everyone this was the game I got into a fight with a whole bunch of Iowa students and Herky the Hawk mascot had to come to my rescue. Not the way I remember it, but that's their story.

I recall some interesting juxtapositions of tailgates in the parking lots--"what is that you're cooking?" and such.

Would be happy to play Iowa again.

Regardless of where/who we play, I'll be there. I've been to 13 consecutive LSU bowl games, and the streak will continue this year.

That said (and no offense meant to these schools), but I would be very "meh" if we play Iowa or Minnesota. Those schools definitely don't get me pumped like I would be for OhioSt/Michigan/Texas/OU/OSU. MichiganSt would be okay, but even they are kinda blah to me ... woulda liked that matchup more when Saban was here.

Oh well, it will be what it will be. Prefer Cotton vs Texas, but Outback will be a nice new destination.

It's certainly understandable why our fans wouldn't be overly excited about ending this season against Wisconsin and then opening next season with them as well

Not really, two different teams will play both these games. This will be the last time to see some LSU players in the P&G and next year's game will be some new stars.

I understand what you're saying but just think that is people stop for a minute they will realize there is merit for going to both of these games.

If it comes down to watching us play Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl or going to Houston in August, I'll choose the latter. That said, it's looking more and more like we may get passed over by the Outback in favor of A&M.

So I'm hearing more about the Gator for LSU and Outback picking Aggies....so two years in a row we take one for the SEC "team" as far as proper bowl seeding. Sounds fair to me ;-) Boy, we are truly the SEC b*tch right now, thanks Alleva!

The problem is we used to go to bowl games and play great teams or at least teams we never saw much of. Now with the SEC West being dominate 90% of the teams we could play in a bowl game are a let down competition wise and you see everyone play every game on TV nowdays.

Being #3 in the SEC west is way above being #3 in the ACC, Big10 or whatever you get paired up with in a bowl game.

Yeah that's why LSU throttled Clemson and that fake QB Boyd last year...... A joke to try and put an SEC team vs an ACC team

I guarantee you there are more LSU fans in and around the Tampa, FL area than there are in Dallas, TX.

You missed the point. After our schedule who gives a rats arse about playing a team like Clemson? The team sure didn't.

No way when you count the ones in Houston which are a short drive away and can make a day trip out of it.
