Since recovering from his shoulder injury Smith has been the most effective pitcher not named Lange or Newman. Working on 9 consecutive scoreless innings against Arkansas and Notre Dame.

You're right about Smith. If he's the JUCO ace version moving forward and Poche gets right again, LSU is primed to make a postseason run.
