This gave me goosebumps. Never heard anything in my entire life as loud as this. One of the greatest moments ever. You just had to be there

LSU beat SC all over the field in '79. If ref doesn't miss the illegal procedure on third down, the game is ours. Probably the toughest loss ever, considering the refs decided it on that down. We went to USC in '84 and blew'em out.

ACtually they didn't. It was in 84 when they did.

Story about the 79 USC game:

As you might expect with the number one team coming to town, tickets were extremely hard to come by.

I lived in the stadium (hence my name), and one day I was walking by the stadium ticket office and went inside. There was a sign that said USC tickets were available to anyone, limit 8 to a customer. Some people had options to buy and did not buy their allotments.

I got some tickets for friends and my parents. They were 35 yard line west side seats!

My favorite was '03 UGA.

Loudest I believe was the missed FG by AU in '05.

Hands down, when we blocked the kick against Bama. 90,000 LSU fans were going berserk.

The 1987 Ohio State game. Tom Tupa (qb for OSU) made it clear to the refs that communication was almost impossible. I thought that the refs were going to throw a flag against us ( LSU fans) for making too much noise. I also remember listening to the FSU game in the early 80s , and I could hardly hear the announcer - it sounded LOUD.

the entire arkansas game in 03. with every score we knew we were getting closer the BCS title game.

I wouldn't say this game was the loudest, but it sure was a lot of fun sitting in the nice weather and watching the Tigers run up the score on them. Basically proved that Matt Jones could only take his team so far against the faster defenses in the SEC, although to be fair they were the only team who cracked 20 on us all season.

My favorite part of that game was watching the replay where in the third quarter when we were up 34-17, the announcers got Eli Manning on the phone. At that point he was holding out a faint hope that Arkansas would come back to beat us, which would send Ole Miss to Atlanta. In the middle of their conversation with him, Mauck hit David Jones for like a 60 yard touchdown that basically sealed the game and left Eli without much to say.

By far, it was 79 USC. Not even close. What's amazing is that it was done with a lot fewer people than now.

People forget that a lot. The only sporting event I have EVER experienced that came close to that kind of crowd/noise/insanity was the Saints blocked punt at the Dome homecoming.

And the Saints game was indoors with more people - and it was just for a matter of seconds.

This, and it's now even close IMHO.

With maybe the possible exception of Bryd's TD catch vs. Auburn in 2007
