2015 IFAF World Championship had the USA beating Japan 59-12. USA outscored its opponents 214-36 with Tepper as DC.

My only complaint about Lou was he couldn't keep the middle of our backfield covered , LSU played well only to have easy middle long down field TD passes lose the game for us . the fact that our back field talent was very good ,only made things worse for him !

According to the link somebody named Robert Tucker is the DC, no Lou...
Don't care either way but I think you are mistaken.

He's the guy who said it takes a full 5 years to implement his defense.

I don't remember his defenses being good in any way. We would drop 6-7 guys into coverage, yet people would still be wide open.

The vaunted drop linebacker led by none other than Thomas Dunson. Talk about a hire that was the beginning of the end of dinardo's career. Carl Reese got an offer from Texas and dinardo was too damn stubborn to pay him more money. Hired his long time friend tepper. Wins turned up losses and we couldn't slow down even the worst offenses in the sec. That was an ugly time in LSU football.

Lou Tepper is currently the DC of the Buffalo Bulls. And according to this LINK which shows the entire USA coaching staff, he's not on the USA team at all. Where are you getting this?

Was actually worst defense in LSU history and that was with NFL draft picks on the roster.
After the big Auburn loss, he told the Advocate "statistically, we achieved our objective". I kid you not.

Tepper was the defensive coordinator of the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots last year.
I'm sorry, not the DC, he was the Head Coach! I hear he's contemplating a run for the US Presidency. We let a great one get away.

Tepper's defense relied on having good linebackers,
He came in for the bowl game and our defense looked
great because we had two really good senior linebackers.
Problem was, we were very weak at linebacker after they left
and he still tried to run the same defense.

Tepper/Tucker... Lou/Robert?
No problem there, nothing to see here.

As I recall, Tepper inherited a D with 8 returning starters and 5 or 6 others that had played in the rotation. Those guys the year before had finished first in the SEC in total D and second in PPG or vice versa. He arrived right before the bowl game and didn't have time to implement any changes. Then he explained the next year it would take 4 years to fully implement his defense. His hiring effectively ended Dinardo's career.

Read and react works like a charm when your opponent is slow and terrible.

Mark roman was the free safety under tepper and led the team in tackles. By a wide margain
Never a good sign

It was the worst time possible for Teppers D to come into the SEC. Offenses were opening up after the Fun n Gun won 6 SEC titles.
I don't care what LB talent you put there , the drop linebacker scheme was useless by this time.
Go watch some of those games in '98 and '99... On third down and distance our middle linebacker turns his back to the LOS to run to a spot fifteen yards down field. He can't cover anyone or any zone like that.
One illustration of how ridiculous this was is the '98 Arkansas game. It wasn't even a challenge for Stoerner. Just picking that outdated D completely apart

Tepper was the D Coordinator for the US in the 2011 IFAF Championships... Now he's the D Coordinator for University of Buffalo.

Thomas Dunson makes DJ Welter look like Lawrence Taylor
