Not sure Deichmann's makes it.

In the 80's there were two of note. Will Clark planted one in the middle of Nicholson Drive. That one is a historical fact.

Craig Faulkner (who I knew from the freshman dorm) reportedly hit the roof of married student housing. Not sure if that one is buried in folklore or not. I did not see it. Faulk was not a slugger but he was a big dude, and he supposedly got all of it.

Lyle Mouton might have hit the longest one ever, but it was at Tennessee.

Anybody got any insight?

From my knowledge, Belle hit one in the old box that landed on the roof of the apartments in left. I also remember Furniss hitting one in a midweek game that landed on Nicholson.

This thread comes up every so often. It wasn't a Tiger. Belle, Mouton & Cresse hit some that make u go WOW. But there was a guy for UF around 04 05, can't remember his name. He put one on the roof of the dorms in LF @ old AB

ETA: Matt LaPorta

Middle of Nicholson was done on multiple occasions. Jim Bowie did it more than once and if Belle hit the top of married student housing , I don't remember that game. He did hit the bad of the wall which was a CERY VERY LONG ways away. My guess it about 500 because that was more than 175 from left field fence. I saw that one as it was off of my cousin at the McNeese game.

I think the legend of Joey Belle is staring to stretch over time. While he may very well have the longest home run, by my recollection, it "hit the married dorm on one bounce" - which is still crazy fricking far

I think the longest HR I ever saw in person was Jacque Jones in a regional

my guess would be one of Joey Bells. the ball just jumped off his bat with a little more enthusiasm than anyone else I've ever seen play sans McGuire and Sosa.
