The problems on defense and special teams have been corrected. I cannot understand why the problems on offense haven't been; we haven't had a quarterback worth two cents since 2007 and the offense continues to get worse. This has even started to annoy my wife. However, this Les Miles hate has become surreal.

Interesting points Hoya. Again I don't boo but it's true that people are put in a spot and have to take drastic actions to make a point.

If booing doesn't get any results, why did Miles pull Jefferson after all of the boos last week? Also, why does the AD get shook up enough to write a letter this week? I think the booing needs to continue until something is done about this pathetic offense. We really haven't been winning against the quality teams this year, we just haven't been losing. As for booing these "kids", there is a large risk/reward associated with playing before large crowds. If you're capable of hearing applause, you need to be capable of hearing boos when you stink it up week after week. These "poor kids" have received probably a good $100,000+ free tuition, etc. from our tax money, ticket sales, etc., with a chance to make even more at the next level if they do well enough. Enough with the "poor kids"....they've got the chance of a lifetime sitting in their hands, and if they can't take a discouraging word, they need to head to the house.

True,
this embarrassing crap has to stop. As much as I get frustrated with this you still don't boo your own players and coach. That's just wrong.

..On a similar note I remember throwing junk at the TV every time Saban sent Matt Mauck on a quarterback keeper...which was often.

Fellow Rantards, please go out there and roar no matter what stupidity we see. This ain’t 1980, not even close. An inappropriate but correct and concise athletic director should not stop us from going out there to finish a promising season. If you don’t like what the AD said, send him (alleva@lsu.edu) an e-mail with a cc to his boss, the chancellor (chancellor@lsu.edu). Use reason, and avoid attacks. Communicate. That is the essence of effective writing.

Didn't read all 24 pages of posts but scanned a few here-n-there and there were lots of good points made and lots of emotion.

Tiger fans are not stupid as so many imply. They have always championed excellence and effort –always. They know full well what they’ve seen on O ain’t gonna cut it against the rest of the schedule and we’re not trending better. Our present record/ranking will prove to mean nothing if our goal is to win championships.

I don’t boo and although I understand why others do I don’t countenance it. Les and Joe should have taken the high-road. Instead of faulting the booers, they should have spoken of the fans expectations and enthusiasm and faulted the performance on the field. The ONLY remedy for the booing in the stands is the performance on the field.

Way to go Joe. I haven't seen any games this year, but 4-0 is 4-0. At least allow the team to lose before you bash them all the time.

fans boo because the product on the field is already bad (hopefully) so if there is a chance that recruits are already leaving, then how does booing help? it doesn't, it makes it worse. thats a fact you can't deny.

I also find it funny that noone has admited to booing. if you are that passionate about defending it, why not admit that you boo? It's because it's an embarrasment to be that person.

If fans boo when we punt on 4th and 1 from the opp. 35, while still trashy, whatever. But if you boo when a kid throws a bad pass or when he goes back into the game, you're a classless excuse for a human being. Justifying it as "booing the coach" is laughable. People need to grow up.

yes, they are... but I'll let you in on a little secret. The games might still be "sold out," but if you think the demand is the same, you're delusional. I went to the UNC game (along with everyone else who put their name in the student lotto--a sign of weak demand by itself) and the stadium was not even close to capacity. I'm pretty sure that everyone (students) who put their names in the lotto for ANY away game this year were granted the tix (another sign of weak demand). I've been to every home game and instead of people fighting to get tix, they are fighting to sell them (ask around if you don't believe me). In addition, I have been leaving my apartment to go to the games about an hour or two later than I did last year and not only have I still been able to get parking, but I've been able to get free parking a stone's throw from the stadium for every game thus far (something that up until this year, has never happened [for me]). And this is all, of course, in addition to the mass exodus of fans leaving LONG before the game is in hand/mass booing...

Y'all can pretend that all is well, but you're ignoring some very obvious signs that indicate we're in a crisis situation.

Whoever said that shite is about to get ugly with a loss was right on.

Come on now... from the posts of yours that I've read, you seem like a pretty intelligent guy. You don't actually believe this do you? What is the basis of your argument? That we are booing a currently undefeated team? With that logic, Alleva would be a hypocrite... remember, last year HE wrote a letter which PUBLICLY CRITICIZED the team's lackluster offense even though they, too, were "technically" doing well (i.e., ranked and about to go to a respectable bowl game).

Alleva has already revealed (again, publicly) his cards... he is just doing damage control right now.

If someone wearing p&g boos anywhere near me tomorrow I will destroy their face and break their ribs and get ejected from the game and post bail. Keep that in mind before you utter a boo.

I don't think you quite get it.

While the wallet is certainly where you would think would be the logical place to go with displeasure, I want you to think about what makes more of a public opinion impact.......

Is it not showing up to the game at all, or showing up at the game, BOOING, and then leaving in the 3rd quarter of a home football game for LSU? Tigersruletheearth had a recent pictorial of the dramatic exodus from TS at the WVU game. You don't think that makes an impact?

The absence of money is one way to vote your displeasure, sure, but think about the booing and the exodus. National TV commentators notated it in their broadcast, LSU is thrown on PTI and around ESPN with the booing. You don't think that embarrasses Alleva and the like? This thread is proof of such.

Believe it or not, those two things combined have actually ignited a potential energy source that I fear will certainly morph into a kinetic hell over the next decade of LSU football. And, go figure, not a hit in the wallet to be found. Not yet, anyway.
