quote:

Dear Tiger Fans, Tiger Stadium is known as one of the most intimidating arenas for opposing teams in the sporting world, a reputation that has been well-earned because of the passion of our fans. Tiger Stadium is at its best when it roars as one voice in support of the Tigers. But when some among the crowd are vocally disapproving of our own players or coaches, it is detrimental on many levels. It impacts the morale of the players, it reflects poorly on our reputation, it sends a poor message of sportsmanship to the young people in the crowd and it delivers a negative message to recruits in attendance. As the Tigers play on national television against Tennessee on Saturday afternoon, I hope the Tiger Nation will be at its best. The crowd at Tiger Stadium is the best 12th man in all of college football, and in the highly-competitive Southeastern Conference, our Tigers need every ounce of support. We are 4-0 and ranked as high as No. 10 in the nation and we are heading in to the most challenging portion of our schedule. Let's keep the momentum going. Geaux Tigers,
Joe Alleva
Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics

He sure has a lot of time on his hands to write "open letters" to the fans.

Joe's late to the party.

I totally agree with his letter, but it discourages me a bit that he would even have to come out and write such a letter to our fans.

I heard he wrote a letter to Jefferson that he needs to shorten his delivery and trust what he sees.

Yeah, i have. But for some reason, I thought Joe might have a little more on his plate than the usual 24 hour Rant lurker. Apparently not.

booing really doesnt solve shite. makes YOU look like a retard, makes the recruits say "frick this place", and makes pti and sportscenter..etc talk about how shitty our fans are.

it does absolutely nothing positive.

Rather than booing, maybe we need to send an open letter to Joe so he understands it's not the players receiving the boos, it's Miles.

The guy hit it on the head. I can understand booing the coaches for making a bad play call, but don't go after the players. We are undefeated, 2-0 in conference, and #10 in the nation. Just love that we are in a great situation right now and have the ability to shut up Rocky Top tomorrow

Thanks for the message Joe. As soon as Crowton calls a sound game and the QBs actually look like they belong in the SEC the fans will listen.

This letter comes best from the AD.

It's a good letter, and it's warranted.

Jo Alleva doesn't care why you boo, he only wants you to stop.
