It still floors me that people were freaking out over this when we were playing western kentucky.

And if you haven't noticed, if one is playing better, that is who he will stick with. That is the benifits of having 2 different qb's. If one is not working, go with the other.

Freaking out was putting it lightly. We had people posting that they were selling their tickets for Arkansas, people melting down over "fairness and equality", one guy said lee should transfer , some people saying the 10-0 coach and most successful coach in team history should be fired, even had one person go as far as saying that they hope lsu loses against Arkansas to prove a point to miles

All because their favorite player didn't start against western Kentucky

A lot of "fans" would rather be right than see their team win

Sad really

Totally agree. You see that with the extreme miles haters that won't let it go until they are proven right.

They will be waiting a long time.

You don't see them around much until the first sign of adversity.

You conveniently left out the 100+ previous snaps where he did not throw one. Might have been 200 snaps.

what does that have to do with him throwing 2 in 11 in the biggest game thus far? If he would have thrown 2 picks in 11 snaps against State, WVU, etc, he would have been pulled for Mett.

He isn't playing in the NFL this year, that's irrelevant.

But he actually did play pretty well against State, WVU, etc. didn't he?

In case you hadn't noticed, Ole Miss defense =/= Alabama defense. He'll do fine.

Was it not JL's first play after coming back in that he threw the second pick?

Why did the coaches pick a pass play on first down for Lee? Would it had been possible that Saban had his defense reading the formation for a first down pass? Why make Lee throw there instead of a run? I do not recall if it was play action even. I have not seen the replay.

Lee was throwing into the teeth of the Alabama defense from his own end on his first play back in as quarterback. I would not fault Lee as much as the coaches if this were in fact not a play action play. Just asking for the defensive backs to look for the play.

With two weeks to prep I would be certain that Saban and his defensive coordinator would recognize a formation for Lee as Lee had started 8 games prior to this. Sometimes the defense wins within the game.

Do not beat your quarterbacks to the ground because a team gets to them within the game. We still win the games. That is what we do.

I agree with foshizzle.

He's only thrown 3 int's the entire season and some are so quick to throw him to the wolves.

7thward, I'm disappointed to see you in that group. I usually agree with you and I know you know what you're talking about.

slow down there bud. I'm not in any "group". You will never see me bash any LSU player, ever. I'm simply pointing out the facts, and that is, Lee threw 2 INTs and was pulled. That has nothing to do with a short leash which the OP suggests. I guarantee you every coach in the nation would pull their starter if he threw 2 picks in 11 plays, not pass plays, but plays. Our coaching staff pulled our starting qb after 4 mins against University of the Cumberlands because he threw 2 INTs in the first 4 mins. Its as simple as that. I'm not bashing Lee or praising Jefferson, just disputing the OP's ridicolously stupid claim that Lee is on a short leash.

Not sure JJ is safer when he had far more turnovers and far less touchdowns last year than Lee has had this year. I don't care who starts or plays more, just win.

Jefferson's "bad" is safer than Lee's. It's that simple. And his speed and ability to pick up 1st downs with his legs is a huge plus. He's just safer.

I completely understand this line of thinking. However, it's also true that with small risk comes small rewards. It's a good thing that Sean Payton doesn't feel the same way about interceptions as some of you boys on this board do or Drew Brees would be benched. Having said that, JJ has been slinging it this year too. Hopefully, he keeps doing that. Playing time should be divided as it was in the beginning of the year when JJ returned unless we need a QB with legs (i.e. Bama game) in which case JJ has been doing a great job.

I think, like, Alabama's pass defense is pretty good. Like, #1 or something.

Just like our defense goat-fricks offenses, Bama's does too. Even to good QBs.

One of our QBs nearly broke the school record for most completions without a INT this season. Who wuz that?

Yeah in no means is JJ "safer", and yes Lee is on a shorter leash. That is evident. It doesn't make you a JJ disliker to state the obvious.

I know what you mean, I read your post. Like I said, I put a lot of weight into how you see things, particularly football. I didn't mean to make it sound like you were bashing the kid. I just read it wrong, I guess.

It wasn't meant to be a personal attack on you, although with the way I phrased it, it could have been interpreted that way. My apologies if that's how you took it.

I'm not so sure about this at all. It all depends exactly how it went down, the competition, the history, the vibe Miles is getting.. etc.
