re: Leadership, and how most of you know nothing about it.

Just as NONE of us here know what REALLY happened in the Shady's incident, none of us REALLY know what happened/why it happened on Monday (or days before). THAT is why this all needs to stop.
I would NEVER EVER have wanted to be in Miles' shoes .. NEVER EVER.
I think I'm in the "almost accepted" stage.

I am the leader of a FFL. Does that count?

Your message title is condescending, strike one.
Your first statement is self centered, strike two.
Your audience didn't read half of it thanks to my two previous points, strike three.
Irony, pure and simple.

Yes, leaders should listen to others and yes they should be willing to change. And, yes, there were a lot of mistakes made on Monday night, and nobody's more broken up about that than Les Miles.

Someone has trouble with comprehension.
Not at all, but seriously only you would read every word of that stupid analogy and comparing it to a struggling offense in the LAST GAME OF THE YEAR!
IT WAS FLAT OUT IGNORANT NOT TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT MONDAY NIGHT AFTER 3 QUARTERS OF BLEEDING!
If you or anyone thinks differently, then you know nothing about sports.
SO I ask you, yes or no, dhould LSU have tried something different after 3 qtrs (really much earlier) to try and attain even a glimpse of success?

I am a leader too and you are dead on.
Gonna let you and the OP in on a little secret... if you walk around letting people know you're a "leader" and calling yourself a "leader" and touting the fact that you "know how to lead" and have all these "leadership skills" I got news for you, you aren't a fricking leader. All those people you "lead" laugh at you and want you to stfu.

Well Tenacious...I'd pat you on the back for being such a great leader but you own hand is in the way.

Thankfully for me, I woke up Tuesday morning cheerful and happy. Hell, I went to bed in a good mood. Having things in life other than football will do that to a person.
Percocet helps, too.

3. The organization is more important than the individual - I know this sounds harsh, but it's absolutely true. The minute you start making decisions to try to please individual interests, the more you'll compromise the organization as a whole. Individuals may not understand it, but the best interests of the organization must be the primary force behind any decision.

GREAT post
I ran businesses for 20 years, made plenty of great decisions and plenty of terrible ones. Employees, customers, suppliers and competitors didn't understood many of them as they did not have access to all of the information I did.
Employees, fans, and any members of organizations NEVER have all of the information they need to accurately judge whether the leader was right or wrong in the decision. Those bashing Miles have absolutely NO IDEA why he stayed with JJ, wasn't prepared for 'bama's defense, or laid the giant egg he did in this game. I sure don't understand why our offense was so terrible and Miles didn't make the change, BUT I also know I don't have the information necessary to seriously question his judgment.
This doesn't mean we can't question and be unhappy about results, but bashing and insulting Miles and JJ is just childish brings more harm to the organization.
Miles delivered the best season in LSU history and one of the best in college football history. He damn sure well knows what he's doing.
Is Saban a moron because he made terrible calls and preparation against LSU in November? against Florida in the SECC, ULM, UAB, Iowa etc etc.
Had Ok St beat Iowa State, the been hammered by LSU in the BCS, I'd be 99% of the Miles bashers would be wanting to give him a lifetime contract.

Notice the way the "leader" won't answer the very simple question I posed to him.

quote:Problem. The stages of grief are fluid and as studies have shown, they can recur in kind of random ways. So to say you are at the "acceptance" stage is to simply mean you are at this moment. It does not mean you are there permanently. There is no such thing as a "time clock" on grieving. I'm sure our counselors and shrinks here, as well as pastors, can verify what I just said.
leadership in most positions doesnt have to worry about the emotions of millions of people looking in from the outside, which is going on here
those millions of people are in grief
someone posted yesterday the stages of grief

Good post, as you can see,it is wasted here. The anti-Miles clan has been waiting all year, chomping at the bit. They finally get to come out of the woods without looking like complete idiots so here they are.

Thank u for your post. I agree with you 100 percent.
People need to get over themselves and evaluate why they are so angry when life is too short to take this so seriously.
