TCU had no regard for him throwing a fastball for strikes and he was forced to try and rely on his slider for strikes. His pitch count was up because TCU worked the count very well against the whole LSU staff.

All of this transpired because of bad pitches with no control.

He looked as bad tonight as Brandon Bowe did toward the season's end, in 1999. This is not the same Lange I know.

Sheesh.

Lange is a standout talented pitcher. But, when he shows the first sign of trouble, CPM better have somebody warming up.

The ump was squeezing him pretty bad but it is somewhat concerning since he struggled in early innings of games last year

I agree with you saying his curve shouldn't be a strike. But when your playing a team as good as TCU and you're supposed to be one of the best pitchers in the nation you have to be able to keep them off balance with something. You can't just expect to throw the FB by them. His FB just isn't that good.

Good Lange bad Lange is def a thing. If he can get passed the second inning then he usually settles down and is dominant.

He was somewhat off last week too. The trajectory isn't good

Happens when you get squeezed & over compensate for lack of a strike zone

I hope Lange learns from tonight's loss that you cannot walk the 8th and 9th hitters back to back and get good results.

But yes, too early in the season to panic.

When he gets behind in the count early his curve becomes much less effective.

The way this game has gone I think the real person to lay the blame on is Paperski he has been hot garbage tonight.

Who said anything about panicking? Call me an idiot if you want to buy Lange averaging 1 walk per 9 as a Freshman. He walks a lot more batters now per 9 innings and has less command on his pitches. It's plain as hell to see.

He walked 2 batters before this game and was pitching extremely well and accurate. He simply had a bad game and to say he's regressed after one game is just ridiculous really. It's also way too soon to judge anyone in baseball, he could literally bounce back and have a better season than his freshman season except for record of course, but stat wise and what he does in the off season could very well improve. I'm willing to bet he will do just that and you will look silly.

The Sports Bar Heroes who gave never played at this level are out in full force tonight offering expertise. Talkers instead of doers. Nerdy know nothings. It was a bad outing. Let's Dore how it goes from here

Dunn is a mediocre pitching coach who relies on talent and can't develop a bull pen. Majority of great pitchers that leave first rounders are just that good. How many pitchers that haven't been day 1 starters has Dunn developed? Gausemen, Nola, Lange, and Posche have been that good. Aside from a few scattered pitchers they have been the staff for the past few seasons. Defend Maneri all you want, but Dunn has done nothing to warrant his praise.
