Brian Kelly said he wanted to focus on the players who bought in and are there for the bowl game. I know Brian Kelly is not happy about the situation.

The problem is this is the beginning of this and not the end. Just hope he doesn't end up at Alabama, UGA, Texas, or Ole Miss if LSU can't keep him around because he will be a good one.

He gave up the sack on Jaden at Alabama that got him concussed!

He didn't give up a sack?

That wasn't a sack. JD was hit late and targeted after the throw.

Why is this hard to understand?

A football player wants to play in the games. If he doesn’t get to play, he’ll try another team that might let him play.

Football only lasts for a few years. Why would a player spend the few years he had sitting on the bench watching others play in games he really wants to play in?

Kids play, or they leave for other teams, or they leave the sport. It’s not an indictment on their character.

Why can't you hold it against him? He quit on his team as an ultimatum.

I have no issue with a player leaving for the portal. But if you want to leave, then leave. Or if you want more money, say "after the bowl I'm going to ask for more money"

But skipping the bowl as a negotiating tactic is a deal-breaker for me.

Hurting the team by holding out a game to leverage a payout. Sounds like a quality guy you want on a team.

That’s what pisses me off. So why is he skipping the game? All the more reason to tell him to carry his arse.

I’m guessing he doesn’t want to play guard
Tackle is the premium position

NIL is not paid out by universities. This is a private party type thing. The university does not have any control over this.

At the end of the day, Contracts do not protect the best interest of the player. Why would they sign contracts lol. They would laugh in the face of Joe Blow lawyer.

Once again college football has been ruined no matter how good of a point you try to make with NIL. You can’t even enjoy it anymore because half the team threatens leave if they don’t get paid.

This isn’t their job yet though

I understand the sentiment of this, but let's not be foolish. That's all it is now, especially for the players with pro potential.

I don't understand why everyone is getting mad at the kids in these situations. This is the system the idiots at the various schools and the NCAA have created. I'm not going to fault another man for trying to maximize his value and seek out what he feels is his proper worth.

They try to pretend they don't, but they do. This will bite them in the arse in a future Title IX lawsuit.

It's ridiculous to pretend the coaches don't direct payments or have any input.

It’s pretty simple. If LSU meets his asking price, he will be back. If they don’t, he won’t.

The problem is that he’s dine nothing to earn it yet.

He may end up being great but he hasn’t dine anything and he’s holding out for more money. Let him walk. A kid with that attitude will likely never live up to his potential and if he gets paid now without earning it, it will make him lazy and lose whatever work ethic he might have.

Guess this means he’s probably heading towards a portal. Hopefully we can retain him.

If the kid is afraid of competition, he needs to get to steppin'. Tired of these kids thinking the world revolves around them. Let him go flip some burgers for minimum wage and see how he likes his life then!

LSU will be fine with out without him! He won't be the first player to have an inflated ego of himself, but then goes on to become a bust.

If LSU wants to pony up a ton of NIL money for a non starter with no actual endorsement value and set a terrible precedent for other similar players, they will

You have no clue if you don’t think there are NIL contracts involved.
