The SEC is going to be tough again this year, particularly in the West. The Tigers could be better, but due to the strength of the conference it is possible that the win total could not rise as much as LSU fans want.

If that happens, is Miles’ job in jeopardy?

“It’s going to take a lot to fire Les Miles,” said Schad. “The guy has won 100 games over a 10-year period. I certainly think most fans in America would enjoy averaging 10 wins per year …

“But we all understand that he has to figure out a way to fix those quarterback issues. His quarterback play has just not been acceptable, and they need to recruit and develop at least an average quarterback.”

I don't have anything to add other than Joe Schad sucks and I turn the channel if he comes on the screen. His speaking cadence bothers me and he usually says dumb things.

He didn't say anything that wasn't true. Nothing to argue.

Not a big fan of Joe, but no argument on anything said.

I would never fire a coach who averages 10 win seasons including 2 NC appearances.

It's just infuriating to watch. No difference in a coach that wins 10 games a year average with horrible play or with great QB. Results of games matter more.

If the program takes a nose dive then put him in the hot seat. He can't survive multiple 8 win seasons in a row.

The football program is on the strongest footing at this juncture as ever before...best recruiting staff, best coaching staff, and Les has adapted now to the new reality of the West...yes, it's going to be a tough grind...but when the going gets tough, the tough get even tougher...and that's where I think the program is now...when Franks gets on campus, the sky will be the limit...NCs to come at that point...not saying that Harris can't do it before then, but I'm from Missouri! Show me!

i don't see us winning more than 8-9 as long as we have jenning/miles combo

It would be interesting to read the Rantards melting down if Miles had won the same number of games except with outstanding QB play and really crappy RB's or DB's.

I'm guessing the usual suspects would be still be crying into their Natty Lites.

Something is really off about Joe Schad. He is so damn weird.

But as others have said no argument with his statements.

What? Obviously there would still be complaints about 8 win seasons.

When I look back on the several weaknesses in certain positions over the last, say, 5 years that was due to poor talent/character evaluations, the fact is we could have easily done considerably worse...I think that Les finally has the great staff that do better evaluations and do better motivation...Les has been slow like the tortoise, I'll surely admit...but we are there now..be patient...great days are coming...jmho

These threads always bring out the delusional pumpers.

Yep, no issues at the QB position at all. A spot in the playoffs is ours for the taking. The West isn't getting better.

Rah rah rah 10 wins a year rah rah rah. Zany, goofy family man.

Couple things I disagree with the National media about.

1. "LSU always recruits as well as anyone."

*This is false. Sure LSU recruited top 15 classes but has not touched the top 5 nearly as much as other teams have. LSU hasn't put together consecutive classes like 13, 14, and 15 in a long long time. LSU is finally just now recruiting on that level and the 13/14 classes are finally ready to shine.

2. "The Program has lost its way."

* Losing as much talent to the draft will do that. LSU combined losing ridiculous amounts of talent with recruiting classes that weren't top 5. The result was a roster with talent similar to a typical Ole miss team. A few good pieces, but not an overall top to bottom solid roster.

LSU finally is recruiting at a level that allows them to replenish the cupboard and field a top contender. Remember what happened when the 09 class became sophomores and juniors. I could argue LSU has assembled just as much if not more talent than those teams had in some spots. I fully expect LSU to shock some teams this year with how good they are.

As long as QB is mildly productive, which they both showed signs of growth in the spring, LSU will be a double digit winner.

Let's say in 2021, Urban Meyer has continued his success at Ohio State but hasn't won another championship or even another prestigious bowl game. Meanwhile Harbaugh has won 3 titles at Michigan and has beaten Ohio State 4 years in a row. Think that wouldn't get the buckeye faithful restless?

the word in coaching circles is that miles is stepping aside after this season. We'll see if they're right.
