The football program is on the strongest footing at this juncture as ever before...best recruiting staff, best coaching staff, and Les has adapted now to the new reality of the West...yes, it's going to be a tough grind...but when the going gets tough, the tough get even tougher...and that's where I think the program is now...when Franks gets on campus, the sky will be the limit...NCs to come at that point...not saying that Harris can't do it before then, but I'm from Missouri! Show me!

Tell me who the quarterback is and whether he'll be at least average next season, and I'll let you know if that's true.

By next year the QB will most probably be Harris...unless he is not what we all thought he would be...I wouldn't be surprised to see Harris and Jennings this year...but the NCs won't come until Franks...jmho

10 win standard holds no water. Back in the day, LSU might play eight games per year. 10 wins in a season that could consist of 15-16 games isn't special. Set a new standard by winning 14 or 15 in a year. That mark holds water.

if by "back in the day" you mean before the 1920's than sure.

and if its so easy...please list all the powerhouse schools that have averaged 10 wins over the last 10 years.

Definitely seen 8-5 too often here of late, and far too many bowl losses of late as well. Oh and it would be nice to not struggle against Arkansas.

If he has, he sure as hell hasn't shown it. He's still pounding that square peg into a round hole more often than not. There's nothing wrong with a ground-oriented attack, but we need to be more innovative and less predictable on offense if we hope to regain our rightful spot atop the SEC.

His quarterback play has just not been acceptable. We all understand that he has to figure out a way to fix those quarterback issues.

He is absolutely right. LSU will win 10 games this year no matter whose at QB. Now sometimes I feel that LSU has become such a top program that our expectation level is too high. Winning 8 games just isn't acceptable at LSU but that doesn't mean we should fire our coach. The expectation level at Bama is to win the NC and nothing less. Us firing Miles for an 8 win season would be as stupid as firing Saban for not winning the NC for 3 years straight.

If he has 8 win talent, and wins 8 games, that's one thing.

If he has 12 win talent, and wins 8, that's something else.

The SEC West turned out to be very overrated last year

The SEC West was 28-0 in non-conference games last year prior to the bowl games. That included wins over Kansas State, Wisconsin, Boise State (who beat up Arizona), Memphis, and NIU. Using bowl games as the soul barometer of whether a conference is overrated or underrated is a bit flawed, you can't just completely ignore the regular season.

Yep, no issues at the QB position at all. A spot in the playoffs is ours for the taking. The West isn't getting better.

I agree with this for the most part! And yes I have not been on the rant long and have not posted much but I do read and visit everyday! My question to you is that ....... Why do you think lsu has problems keeping the elite players for their final 1-2 years of playing time? Is it that they don't like the coaching? Want the money? Feel there is no reason to stay cause they have an idea that they won't play for a NC even if they stay? I'm not sure which if any would be correct but I often wonder how the other schools can keep their players or win without them!!

I understand some posters may not like Schad, but what he's saying is the truth. If LSU's QB's have another shite-show of a season Les will be taking massive amounts of heat even though his job is obviously safe.

That's all Schad is saying.

He didn't say anything.... and that wasn't true. Nothing to argue.
