I wish it was "over" with a decent resolution (i.e. no felony conviction or jailtime for the students), but it' not. It's current. It's going on. They were just formally charged today. They haven't yet been indicted (possible, but not likely) and they're still on the team.

ok. sure you have your reasons. just seems to me that the kick to the head allegations are key, both from an invg. standpoint and a fan-moral support standpoint.

If the BRPD's investigation is as shitty as it appears and the obtained an arrest warrant based on the Lowery and Long accounts, Hillar would be well within reason to toss the charges out. But because this is such a high profile case and Hillar is big with LSU, every media outlet in the country would be calling it a cover up.

AM - I mainly lurk and don't post, but I'm curious to get your take on this. In this thread, you are implying that you have 2nd hand knowledge that the "real" kicker is someone other than Jefferson.
In another thread, you state that you don't think Jefferson would be a distraction to the team because by all accounts he is a great teammate.
In your opinion, why has no one else been implicated and/or why hasn't Jefferson (or one of the other bystanders/participants) pointed the finger at this person?
The longer it goes on the more of a distraction it is to the team. If this is submitted to the grand jury as the Dist. Attorney has suggested, they grand jury has the power to subpoena people, which could possibly include Les Miles, the other coaches, and potentially all of the players. Do you really think that is a better alternative than Jefferson, Johns, etc. "ratting" out the true kicker?

I can only say that I heard a believable account this weekend with someone other than Jefferson as the kicker. The other details of the account have been confirmed.
