It probably has something to do with Lee’s career 1:8 TD:Int ratio vs Bama and the fact that our OL was bad in the first half and adding a less mobile QB wasn’t the answer

The real question is how did Mett not start in 2011.

It's been over a decade since the title game. When and where do I go to obtain the tell all book. Take my money!

Les didn't think Lee could handle the Alabama pass rush... they were getting through like it was a jail break.... and Jefferson was at least mobile.

And if you'll remember, Lee's last pass attempt against Bama in the regular season was that holy-crap-no-look-interception that led to Jefferson playing the rest of the game.... Jefferson played fairly well and took over as the starter after that.

What a player has done more recently always matters more to me. Jefferson was terrible in his return against Georgia. The defense and special teams bailed him out. I thought overall Lee had a solid season.

It’s fine if he wanted to start Jefferson for the mobility, but it became obvious LSU was never going to do anything offensively under Jefferson. Perhaps they don’t under Lee as well, but at least try something else.

Jefferson was incredibly rusty against Georgia and Bama. Les Miles not making a move later in that game was the most frustrated I have ever been as a fan. I am thankful to this day he is gone over that.

Jefferson was God awful in that SECCG.

Anyone but Jefferson should have started vs Bama.

He wasn’t prepared and it showed.

Lee could not have done worse, but I was fine with finding out, after the first few drives.

He'd already been starting before the UGA game. He was just really bad in that game, I don't think it was a rust thing.

And he'd been getting snaps/ whole drives in the games prior to Bama. I thought he played pretty well in that one, all things considered.

As I've always said, the biggest issue was not using them more in tandem down the stretch in 2011 (and esp on 1-9). It seemed to work in 2010.

same as 21-0. Still a loss.

But we'll never know, will we, because Les didn't change a thing. Just drove the plane straight into the ground without trying something (ANYTHING!!) to try to light a spark. Last game of the year for the National Championship -- no need to hold anything back. But Les did.

Here's an idea: instead of passing on most downs because your "passing QB" is in the game, maybe you let him hand the ball off to the running backs and use a conservative game plan like they used against Oregon to start the year.

But no, we had Les "play to their strengths" Miles as head coach. Beyond JJ and JL, Les was always the problem.

104-167
62.3%
1306 yards
7.8 yards/attempt
14 TD
3 INT
152.0 rating - best in the SEC

Apparently not with Jarrett who, believe it or not, might actually know more.
