That kind of nags at me, too, Doc.
Why would Dale & Collis feel like they had more stroke in this decision now than they did 4 years ago, when Collis was just off being so instrumental in putting together that Final Four team?
I'm kind of wondering if Doucet isn't just being his usual muckraking self.

Johnny is making 400k a year at UNT. I'm assuming he will be paid less than $1,000,000 here. Disappointing hire if this is what it'll be.

And they got behind the Trent hire full force. Hell ole Collis even took credit for the hire.
But it cooled pretty quickly, especially for Collis. I think for Dale too, though he wasn't quite as vociferous about it as Temple.

I would hope we would back a fellow LSU alum to turn our program, which is at an all time low, around. I would guess he genuinely wants to get his school back to contender, and will work his arse off to make it happen.

I just can't see Alleva hitching his reputation to Jones. I realize Dale and Temple have a certain amount of power, but this isn't the type of hire that will win Alleva any favor with the fan base.
