The article doesn't paint Jennings in a bad light, and does a good job explaining why his legal issues aren't too serious. It's actually press Jennings does deserve.
As for the sarcastic quote the OP posted, it could have been written better, but I do understand its point. Jennings has played poorly and shown very little leadership on the field. And, yes, obviously if he played better the leadership issue would solve itself.
