I'd like to play them for the national championship.

I would enjoy seeing both UL n LSU make the elite 8 .....Omaha would never be the same , besides , our state needs GOOD news every now n then !

ULL fans want the easiest path to a championship, as apparent by their 50+ win season and werent a lock for a national seed until last week. so no they def don't want lsu.

I think it has more to do with trying to assume the name of the school system that has a eight other universities in it. Kind of making it come across as the definitive flagship of the system which doesn't make sense.

I work with someone who despises LSU. He purchased a Ohio State shirt for the NC. He thinks the Vet school should have been awarded to UL-L because of the Vermilion Parish cattle industry. They also blame LSU for orchestrating the Death Penalty they received in Basketball in the 70's. Hatred is deep.

in 2000 when USL went to Omaha, their fans were asking LSU fans to pull for USL, and the first game we did. Then we noticed that when the Tigers were playing USL fans were yelling for our opponents. So that was the end of that shite.

Brief followup to my earlier post.
I didn't care that the USL fans were pulling for Alabama per se. My son goes to Alabama.
I was irritated that these people, all Louisianians, were so vociferous in their desire to see the flagship school of Louisiana lose. I doubt most of them could find Tuscaloosa on a map.

What debate?
My only complaint is how pathetic it looks on there part to continually passing themselves off as something they are not. Especially when another University in the state has just as of a argument to make the same claim. I would be perfectly fine with them being the University of Louisiana, it even sounds good. Just officially change the name.

I am a graduate of Alabama, native of Lafayette, and pull for ULL(family went here), LSU(family went here) and Alabama if you can believe that. Like to see all 3 do well. Tomorrow I will be at Lamson Stadium pulling for the Lady Cajuns to beat Arizona.

Can't remember thinking much about USL ever at least since Brian Mitchell played there. I was in HS at same time and played against him and followed his career.
If asked I would say the claim of UL is silly and quaint, but don't really think about it much one way or the other.
That said I don't feel any allegiance to or support for USL. I have a greater allegiance to other SEC teams v everyone else. I won't pull against them but doubt I'll pull for them.

No they cannot. I witnessed it firsthand the las time this happened. Some ULL fans even rooted for Stanford out of spite.
