If Ole Miss hires Miles, who will have the better head coach?

Like many here, I supported Miles' termination, despite an overall successful tenure here.
Not sure I would have supported that action if I knew his successor was going to be The Orgeron.
I hope for the best for the Tiger Program, but the selection of Da Coach O seems to be based on hope, not performance. Hope is not a good plan.
Will we have traded down and Ole Miss get the better coach, after cheating relentlessly?
Curious what others think...

I'll repost this from the other thread. Bottom line, no way Miles doesn't do better than 3-21 in Oxford. And I'll take this bet against anyone:

quote:

There has been a lot of bluster from the Miles bashers that no one is scared of Miles at OM, he isn't turning them into a contender blah blah. Ok, fair enough.

But I would ask this question, does anyone think Miles would do better than 3-21 in the SEC if he went there?

If so, what does that say about him in comparison to the man we replaced him with?

Miles has faults, but I would lay serious money on Miles winning more than 1 SEC game a year at OM. I would be happy to do ban bets with Ree andant of those other dumb fricks that are clearly drinking buddies of O or Ponamsky's fatass himself.

Ole Miss. Look at Les's body of work compared to O. Its plain and simple even with how antiquated Les's game plan had become.

Care to take the bet?

You think it's not a valid question?

Honestly Miles was probably a better HC (program manager, handling players, recruiting, basically being the face of a program.) Miles was great at that stuff and Coach O hasnt really had to do much of that yet. But O will be better on game day, even if he does nothing more on game day than watch. Les did more harm than good on game day, by putting the breaks on the offense, clock management, penalties, etc. Stuff that made you want to pull your hair out.

Its not just about who is the better coach, more about better fit and staff. Look at Belechik with the Browns vs the Pats. Miles ran his course at LSU and the program was starting to sink. O wasnt my choice but a change needed to be made. It was obvious that Miles was too stubborn to adapt on offense and was taking his 1950s offense to the grave.

well first of all miles isn't getting the ole miss job...but if he did he would fail and be fired in 4 years. I am pretty unhappy with the O hire but i'll talk him over the 2015-2016 version of les miles.

No, you have to give O 11 years too at LSU and then compare.

I hope you are right.

If he does, however, I would be happy to revisit a ban bet, if you care to put your money where your mouth is

I'm taking a 'wait and see' approach to this question. I think Orgeron at least deserves a couple of full seasons at LSU before making any comparisons.

feel free to bookmark this. any job miles takes in the future i don't expect him to last past 4 years. the man is 64 and runs an archaic offense. i don't expect him to get a serious chance to coach big time football again.

Yes, but the little kids don't want to be objective and wait, they want to continue throwing their hissy fit and shite on O every chance they can. It is pathetic, and I'm not even a huge O fan but I'll give the guy a chance

In short, Ole Miss will have the better coach if they hire Miles.

Not even close.
