re: If 2-5 losses per year was good enough for Saban, why not Miles?

Gerry DiNardo won the SEC West as many times as Nick Saban, FWIW.

Saban inherited a LOT of talent. DiNardo couldn't coach, but he left Saban with talent

no credit goes to Jimbo and Bo, the coordinators in 2005 and 2006 (crowton was the OC 2007, but it's obvious Miles took over playingcalling after the NCG)

Credit goes to all involved, including the HC, who you people refuse to acknowledge. Don't mind people complaining about Les. I'll admit there is plenty to complain about. But to pretend like the man has contributed nothing and has only run Nick Saban's Ferrari into the ground is just plain stupid.

Not to mention the stupidity of THIS statement.

Saban didn't inherit crap at Bama, the team had gone 10-2 and 6-6 the previous two years. Mike Shula was on the cusp of building something good there but got booted in favor of a proven college coach who was coming off a miserable failure in the NFL. Saban was able to build upon what Shula had started. The gumps got impatient and wanted to win immediately. It is unexplainable why they tossed Shula under the bus. Saban has definitely gotten better as a college coach, he is outstanding among his peers. He used LSU as a stepping stone.

Did Miles inherit a strong program? He did fall into a dream job, in my opinion.
Has he maximized the potential? I'd say no because he tends to field undisciplined teams, is awful at creating an offensive attack and his in-game coaching performance is sloppy.
Did he hurt LSU? His performance has not been spectacular nor has he hurt our program. He seems to love the university.
Does he deserve to be fired? His security should be questionable because of all the embarrassing performances in big games but he still has proven to be capable of winning games.
