Is Trents skin color buying him some time?

Joe Alleva is buying him time, trying to make himself not look bad with his first big hire.

Too late.

And if the team actually shows dramatic improvement, wins the division and goes to the dance next season will your position change?

its not actually the best 68.

its the winners of every conference tournament in D 1 and then about 40 more teams as merit suggests.

If a BCS conference team goes .500 usually they are invited to the NIT at least. that is another 32 teams.

they played both Florida and Bama well for a few minutes.
They are not a well oiled machine, but they showed flashes.

I think he would get one more year whether white or black if they continue to play well as they did this past week.

I would say NIT for sure next year or else bye bye
unless there were key injuries.

I don't think this is an unreasonable question. TJ was hired with a lot of AD inspired first black big 3 coach at LSU "woohoos!"

The answer is still NO. TJ gets a 4th year black or white.

But there is something wrong when you can't even question race - and trust me I think half the people on this board that hate JR (the NFL bust) for his tenure at LSU are racist fricks.

Two years of embarrassment, capped with another 10+ losing streak, and 1k in the stands with no improvement in sight = it is time to find a "good coach" whatever the previous coaches color is, or the new coaches color will be..........

I was very hopeful that Anthony Grant who had better credentials imo would be hired, but noooo. So now Grant has Bama rising and is obviously the superior coach.
He wasn't hired and this hasn't run it's course either. TJ may well end up being better than Grant. But I also wanted to hire Grant if possible.

Does that make me racist? (AG is black for the retards)

The OP question is baiting for sure. But it's not illegitimate. The answer is NO, but still I think YOU CAN ASK THE QUESTION baiting or not.

didn't Aleva say that one of the reasons for getting rid of the previous coach was we could not fill seats in the PMAC?

Pretty weak and petty sauce, there. I kept my question simple so you could understand it. Care to try again...with elaboration?

Only winning or another Pete will fill the PMAC there are no more PM's, so will have to look for a winner. I don't think the coaches future will be decided by his skin color, it will be decided by a reason to come to the gym. Maravich did it, and Dale Brown did, and winning will do it.
If the admininistration is satisfied with 1k in the stands, then we really should just accept that and watch baseball, which is what happened this past weekend............

If Miles were Black, would he have been fired after two below average seasons, before this past 11 win season?

Let's play the racist game of what ifs!

We all know the team has struggled the over the past two seasons, we all know that next season will be crucial for Coach.

Why bring this bullshite up?

Yes and after going to bb games for the last 20 years I would venture to say that actual attendance in the last two years is the worst I can ever remember. It is also hard for me to believe that Alleva ever thought TJ would ever do anything to promote this program other than win a bunch of games, cause he certainly doesn't have the personality to promote anything. I have been in some very close settings with TJ and he's got terrible bullshite. I can remember one of the guys saying "this guy better win he makes brady look like dale carnegie". He is just not a very personable person. I just can't see tj standing next to dick vitale with a santa claus hat on. For that matter i don't think dick vitale will have a reason to come here and call a game as long as tj is here.

Miles is LSU's winningest Football coach.

A more accurate Trent Johnson to Football comparison, if there is such a thing, would be Mike Archer & now Curley Hallman.

Sounds like ignorance to me...
Bottom line: Trent is a "high profile guy" that we got from Stanford who had tried to rebuild a program the way he wants to, and has finally started to do that, no matter what he would deserve another year.

Good thing he wasn't less than two years removed from an SEC title and a Final Four appearance. That is really dangerous territory for a coach.
