AS long as Miles and Cameron are at the helm, we will always be below average at QB

Sadly, I agree. The only decent QB play we've had during Miles' tenure has come from guys he didn't recruit and his staff didn't train/develop (Russell, Flynn, and Mett). Offensive coordinators have come and gone, yet the problem remains a constant. I really think that Miles views the QB almost as more of a liability than a weapon, which is ludicrous and frustrating at the same time.

One of the callers on the post-game radio show last night said that Felipe Franks was wavering on his commitment to LSU. I hope to God that's just a baseless rumor and not anything close to the truth.

Can't blame any WR or QB commit for wavering with the passing game results we have posted under Les.

Ok once again philosophy.. We are scared to throw the ball across the middle bc of the threat of an int.

I don't get it.
How is this not an issue for the other 100 plus teams in college football?

The other teams don't have a paranoid head coach.

It is possible that we are saving the short understuff for when we need it. Teams will load the box and play deep on passing downs. If we can only get those receivers to catch the damn ball!!

No. The so called "not showing the entire playbook" excuse should be retired forever. The playcalling on passing downs is putrid. Cameron has been a disappointment with the passing game.

We say some variation of this every year and it has never been true. We aren't saving anything. We are who we are. We may see incremental improvement, but we will all of a sudden become proficient at passing.

Because they don't have Leonard Fournette to hand the ball off to. Why take unnecessary risks when you have the best player in the country you are taking carries away from?

LF can't do it alone- what happens when someone stops him? People act like he will step on the field & have 150-200 yards every game. Wether it is Florida, Bama, Ole Miss, whoever, we need to be ready with option(s). We need the short passing game, in my opinion.

Just a theory? Mett scared the bejesus out of Miles. Miles had never had a gunslinger for a qb. Mett falls into his lap and he's clueless as what to do with him. In comes Cameron and the ball is flying all over the place and Miles is about to crap on himself. Miles is a control freak and as long as he's here LSU will never have that kind of offense again. Henceforth, a very predicable boring ground game with a pass offense as an afterthought.

How in the world would any father let their son come play quarterback for this one trick pony of a coach.

It makes you wonder how lsu keeps landing elite offensive skill players not named a rb.

Except Cameron's history says the exact opposite. Gus Frerotte went to Pro Bowl with Cam as his QB coach. Randle El broke NCAA records and was sixth in Heisman voting. Brees, Rivers, Flacco, Mettenberger.

I really think Auburn is more reflective of what offense looks like going forward. Last night was no scheming and completely vanilla.

Maybe we're trying not to show the plays we're going to lay on Bama.

When a defense puts 9 players in the box it makes short passes very difficult. The wide receivers should be able to make better separation on the DB's, considering there is rarely any safeties playing deep. Passes over 10-15 yards are the correct calls against loaded boxes, but the WR's are not getting separation and not catching the balls. If we can fix this things will get much better.

Fournette was open on a 3rd down, then a drive or two later, he was open in the endzone, instead, Harris throws to covered WRs. That doesn't seem like less trust, it seems like too much trust, trying to do too much, or not seeing the whole field. Mett use to do the same with Beckham even when he was double and triple covered. We have the exact opposite of what some teams hate. They hate a QB who constantly checks down, we need one to at least know how to check down.

This is the main thing I recall from watching the game last nite.
