So can a player enter the transfer portal every year? Or did she have to graduate to go back to back portal?

Shot 34% last year. 29% in the year before at Louisville.

I'm sorry, she is not an amazing 3 point shooter. By any means.

Hailey probably made him take that stupid video down. She hasn’t made any excuses.

It didn’t work out - best of luck to her.

I would say there was no one on the team that was an amazing 3-pointer. That just wasn't our bag.

This. She handled everything with class. I will be a huge fan of hers next year. Really hoping she lights it up and wishing her all the best. But this is just an idiot trainer grasping at straws to save his own job.

quit reading at bullet point #1

dafuq? Dribble, pass, catch, shoot, move feet---defend. this is asinine if true. There is no training differentiation between a 1 and 2 guard in terms of "training" (in terms of skills development)

If she is a natural 2 and she trained for a 1........then she should have been prepared for anything.

and a trainer can certainly help, but he can't manufacture basketball skills.

Perhaps he can fine-tune a few things, and improve conditioning, but it's 98% HVL's innate talent that makes the difference. That and practicing basic basketball guard skills in the off-season, with or without a trainer.

It ain't rocket science.

maybe that's the reason she always had that scared, dumbfounded look on her face

He says he won’t say anything about the coaching staff, but once the season started you could tell right away there was very little that lined up with the promises that were made or insinuated how she would be used.

Losing Smith, our main point guard, with in the 1st couple games, we were forced to quickly make adjustments. It's not HVL's fault or the coaches.

In many team situations, it is often the case when someone has to step up and assume another's position. There are some limitations, but a certain amount of transfer and innovation is sometimes involved. We have pilots who learned on one aircraft move to another--or perhaps some members of rock bands will assume roles when needed. When a person moves into a new role, they should adapt and learn as much as they can so as to do the job more effectively. A trainer or coach can encourage you, but ultimately you have to discipline yourself to improve to the point where it's your best--though you might not be as good as the one you replace--or perhaps you find you are better or more flexible than the one you replaced. It could also be that HVL felt like she had been placed in a rut and couldn't find her way out (or perhaps didn't want to). It is not the trainer or coach, but the will of the individual.
