amazing 3 pt shot and they focused on extending that range and more off-the-bounce 3s.

Except for a handful of games, I was rather unimpressed in this regard.

Hell, she had open looks against Iowa in crunch time and missed.

It is what it is.

Good luck to her.

I don’t think any trainer should speak for any player, whether the player gives permission to do so or not.

The baby back bitch pulled the vid down

Wish HVL the best. Maybe the best thing she can do is drop clowns like this from her circle

He says they focused on PG skills “getting penetration in the paint, probe defense, control pace, outside pressure, use her change of speeds to get to passing areas on the floor, get to the paint, and not only looking for her shot but to facilitate.”

If this is what they worked on…he sucks. THIS is what she was unable to do and why it didn’t work.

It’s a private video.

What concerns me is ‘HVL’s trainer’. These kids are still developing and coaches at this level are relying on development from outside sources? WTF?

I mean, I remember Kareem spending a few weeks on campus with Shaq but that was organized by Dale.

Bottom line: there is now a season of tape against elite competition that shows HVL’s worth. No year of transfer will wipe that out. Her WNBA potential is now cast in stone, period. This trainer can cry all he/she wants. Its over. Go sell used car insurance.

If she couldn’t be successful at LSU, why would she be in the WNBA?"

Direct and to the point. I like it.

She didn’t make clutch shots when needed, is slow, and the offense never flowed well through her. It’s what it is.

This is the narrative he wants to push for his training and for HVL's image. And there were a lot of things I did not like about HVL's criticism. But her talents were not best suited for a PG. She needs to be a volume shooter and that was never going to work with the players we had. She competed and sacrificed for the better of the team and that should be the message. Not that LSU lied or misused her. SMH.

For one thing HVL probably should have been with the team sooner working on the new position, but instead she was playing that 3v3 tournament.

Yep. And I didn't highlight her trainer's quotes regarding 3x3 but he mentioned they will be training hard for the upcoming 3x3 summer tournament. She'll be making the same mistake for her next team.

Yeah, I thought she got a lot of good open looks against Iowa, she just missed them. All of this rationalization as to her struggles - open looks are open looks.

I had always heard she was promised to play point guard and we did even though it was obvious it was not the position she should have been playing...is that not the case?

I thought that was the reason she came....to expand her game to make her more attractive to the WNBA as a 5'7" guard and being able to show she can do more than shoot. Not buying this explanation.

She shot 29.3% last season at Louisville from three point range. She took 198 shots.
She shot 41.1% overall. Why did people think she was a good shooter, a volume shooter?

Wish the best for HVL and she's fine and all, but she was a combo of short and slow... not a great combos for basketball.

I dont think she was lied to but as a team sport you do what the team needs as a player and a coach. The fact LSU
lost one of their better players b4 the season,Smith, and
didnt have a true point guard forced KM to make some changes.Thats team sports.

Failed experiment. Not a good fit. LSU is great. HVL is great. Move on.
